yeah um so about these battles like how do they know when to show up like do they plan them or do they just arrive when they see redcoats out on a field in battle positios?
@shotgunsteve93 That's an inaccurate view. 'Defeated' and 'driven to the coast', these descriptions are both wrong. Cornwallis, with an outnumbered army that was suffering from severe fatigue after marching 800 miles with no tents or supplies; attacked and defeated Greenes' army, and drove it from the field and the surrounding areas. You are of course right that Cornwallis was then forced to withdraw to the coast to resupply, but at no point was he defeated
@engliscwarrior Yeah, I guess I was wrong to say "Defeated" but with with Conwallis' diminished ranks, especially in leadership, and his depleted supplies, he was effectively "driven to the coast." The Battle of Guilford Courthouse changed the course of the war.
@shotgunsteve93 Actually, the Battle of Cowpens did. The battle depicted in the movie is more or less what happened at Cowpens, set at Guilford. It's not historically accurate. The real battle of Guilford Courthouse was a Pyrrhic British victory that cost the British so many men that Cornwallis was unable to continue offensive operations. At Cowpens, Tarleton was actually in command, although he wasn't killed.
@shotgunsteve93 It was actually British victory. I asked some guy who writes books about shite like this and he says otherwise. Ironicly he's American so you can't say he's supporting the British.
@TheSlomproductions this movie is not historical at all and definitely should not be referenced for american revolution facts. It does accurately portray the lifestyle of the period and the real men who the characters are based on, as well as the style of warfare that was waged in the south. The British royal artillery was actually quite good, and outnumbered the artillery of the Americans.

Robert Rodat wrote this film and Saving Private Ryan. He is obviously anti-British. I hope the twisted bastard dies from cancer.
