This game is like Quake 1 crossed with Serious Sam. XD And by that, I mean because it has HUGE hordes of monsters to slay. }:-D Some of the monsters are somewhat Lovecraftian, even. Speaking of which, Quake's interpretation of Shub-Niggurath wasn't quite accurate, but interesting nonetheless.
Funny that you would use the word "braindead" because they're a movie with that title (known as 'Dead-Alive' in the US) in which the hero (who starts out as an anti-hero), Lionel Cosgrove, chops through a horde of zombies at the end with a lawnmower. }:-D
Doesn't the Painkiller (the title-tacular weapon with the same name as the game of the same name) remind you of a lawnmower? XD Just a motor with a blade, but still a lawnmower.

If you got too little to do and want to improve your aiming skills, Painkiller is defenetly the most braindead, repetitive but fun choice :P
