And it's knowingly unlike real gangsters, so maybe Ritchie has learned his limitations after the vileness of Swept Away and Revolver. (I still think Sherlock Holmes proves it's best that he doesn't write his films though.)

In short, I'm saying Ritchie now knows what he can and can't do. Here, he's going back to the playful, stylised dialogue of Snatch and Lock, Stock. He was right not to interfere too much with the Sherlock Holmes script. I think that's a bit out of his league. All in all, he's a fairly decent director when he sticks to putting 'Tab A' into 'Slot B'.
