@joseywhales Just returned home from jumping my level 6, my solo grad jump. I really, REALLY stunk the place up. Exit went fine and that's about it. I started to do a really quick left turn and corrected. Then went into a quick right turn. That was followed by a sweet bag of potato chips. The requirements for this jump are exit at 6k, get yourself a heading and pull at 4k. I was able to pull on time.....the remainder of the jump was a bummer.
@joseywhales Thanks for the positive comment.....I just have to build up the old skydiving account and then I'll be back at it. Damn mortgage gets in the way.
@xThePezx Hey, A cut away is when something goes wrong with your main canopy(parachute ) and you have to cut it away. When I say cut away, I mean pull the handle on the right side of your chest which make's the main parachute go away. Then you pull the reserve handle, on the left side and a new parachute comes out to save your ass! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for posting that mate ...iam just learning that gives me a idea of what a real cutaway would be like .....you looked in control all the way ....thanks again
Nice cut, no hesitations. I see that you used one hand in each handle. I also learned to cut-away like that but now days they are teaching both hand on cut-way and then both hand on reserve. Anyway well done and blue skies...
@theciskokidd who cares if he cut early you fuck... it's his life he wants a better chance of saving not yours. What if his reserve fucked up and he needed those few seconds to fix it?
@brianroger Thanks! I had an rsl on this rig, I think I pulled before the rsl could deploy. I had to chop because of a line over. Thanks again for watching!
@joseywhales interesting dialog between you and brianroger. you can clearly see the rsl on the video, and you can clearly see that the rsl pulled the reserve pin almost one second before you pulled the reserve handle.
I'm AFF lvl.3 what kind of malfunction was that? Line Twists? I think I would lose control of my bowels. They taught us Square Stable Steerable. It looks like you tried to steer, but it wasn't working. Good save though. Blue Skies!
@daleroxya It's really fun!! That did Scare the shit out of me, but when I landed I wanted to go again. Come out and try it! Thanks for checking out the video
is that how you are told to do? grip cutaway handle with one hand and reserve handle with another? many fatalities have occured because of that.. if you pull them same time, its possible that reserve tangles on your main...
@joseywhales Hey Dipshit .....if you take a second and re-read what I wrote you'll realize I wasn't even talking to you....good job making yourself look like a complete moron tho!!
It was cool. Plenty of time/altitude left. He made the decision at about 3300' AGL and had a reserve inflation at about 3000' AGL. I think this a good video to show students/beginners to get a feel for what a cutaway would be like in real time which is very fast.
What kind of mal?
