Tosh now claims he wrote the music but it's a shame that he couldn't really recreate anything as what he allegedly wrote in the Wailers! We all know Bob was the talent in the band. Even his wife Rita is now coming and saying she wrote songs for the band, it's clear she didn't since anything done since has been clear rubbish. Peter Tosh is a very jealous and bitter man, don't believe everything he says.

The guy in the hat and shades is the very Talented Peter Tosh!He never got the respect he deserved while in the Wailers.I think The Wailers were at their peak while he was a member of the band.For me Catch a Fire and Burnin are head and shoulders above anything Bob Marley and the Wailers ever put out!

I really meant no disrespect to Bob Marley in my comment about Peter Tosh's tenure in the band.I love and respect Bob Marley.There is no doubt that he was a very talented musician,singer and songwriter,and contributed greatly to the band!I just think that the substance of the material was better when it was The Wailers as opposed to Bob Marley and the wailers thats all.

This is a deferent version than that on the LP. I like this one much better....longer intro with a real cool reverb on Tosh's guitar really helps the chuga-chacka....The version of stir it up is much better too, Recorded in 1973, although live is not a live video. They are definately playing along to a recoding earlier that day in the same studio..."lip synching" if you will.....What do you think? Can you tell?

Check out the slower, steppers original of this song recorded back two years earlier in 1970. Makes fascinating listening, especially with regard to how Chris Blackwell set about re-packaging the Wailers sound for the international rock market. Grew up with the Island recut, though these days I'm feelin' the far more the edgier, more rootsier original.
