@Ionutz304 No its not.. Its a 5.1 system this is a 2.1 so you can't compare them. When considering music these are definently better with a lot better mids and bass but if you want them for watching movies or gaming then the z5500 might be better.

@logitechistgeil if you want my opinion, then the z-5500 are just abit stronger than the Edifier, and if you surf around the net you can find the z-5500 for a lower prize than the edifier.... becoust the Edifier are getting very popular.. becouse it use to be cheap but the prize are going up on the edifier... sadly

@RsDkPK the edifier also uses 2 way satelits, the z5500 just fullrange speakers..... ;) also the edifier satelits are not cheap plastik crap like logitech are.... they are much, much cleaner in the mids because of the enclosure ;) btw: if u want "real" sound, get a cheap 5channel amp from harman/kardon (like the avr132 oder avr 142 or so) and get 3 good, cheap sateliets, 2 good stereo speakers, and subwoofer with sub amp, if you are good in searching, you may get the total set for under 400Euro

@logitechistgeil You can find mixed opinions but in mine is definitely better.

The z-5500's woofer driver seems to have longer suspension than the edifier but it has crappy impedance on low frequency bellow 60hz and the power goes down so it doesn't have more excursion than the edifier.

how much does the subwoofer element weight?

the z5500 weights 3.5 kg/ 6.2 pounds

Ahmm... I forgot to see how much the driver weights,but it's pretty heavy xD

For the record,the weight of the whole subwoofer if i remember right,it's about 24-25kg,and the box with the complete set was 30kg.

Next time i pull off the driver,i will see how much weights. :D

Update:

I removed the driver to make a free air excursion video,and i put it on a personal weight scale,and it weight 4.7kg.
