[US] Professor Layton and the Unwound Future - Scene 35/37 + Credits

The ending to the English version is much more effective. This is because it almost metaphorical (It says 'Our shared past and our...lost future,'). In the American version it says 'I'll miss you and our unwound future,'. Although this ending was good it did not, in my opinion, provoke as much emotion. Still this is such a sad ending. It deserves high praise!

This scene is much better in the English dub, simply because;

a) The "I'll miss you and our unwound future" bit of dialogue is reworked and sounds better.

b) Luke's voice doesn't ruin the scene. He still speaks but it's less harsh on the ears and fits the mood more easily.

What really got me wasn't this scene or the one where Clive loses his parents but when Layton is explaining how when he went to investigate on his own why Claire's death was covered up, he was horribly beaten to unconsciousness, hospitalized for a month and his notes were stolen. Seriously, considering this may be (it's been a while) the only time in the series that he took off his hat intentionally (which is slightly ironic ["So no taking it off." -Claire]) Great music, great visuals, great voice acting, great EVERYTHING. Also, it is amusing that she used his catchphrase: "After all, that's what a gentleman does." REALLY sad moment. Stupid character limit... I could rant on this for years!

Layton games are always awesome when it comes to showing emotion in characters. Animation and voice acting (except for Luke in some games) is always perfect. Level-5 has their newest top-franchise if you ask me. Now to find a way to put Layton in Smash Bros. XD

Completely stunned at the parting scene. ;~; But while I was teary-eyed at the crying Layton, I got surprised when he took off his hat, 'cause I remembered there was a character in Diabolical Box asking him to take it off but he refused, so I thought that was a hint to the players that we would never ever see what's under that hat! I became sad even more when he did it, like he really showed how much he respects and loves Claire :(

I liked this scene a lot, not only it was very sentimental but also because it was actually nice to see Laytons reaction. It kinda made me happy to see him so emotional and not as reserved as his character tended to be. It's like he dropped his mask. He acted very human, with his crying he signaled us that everyone faces moments in life that made one breaking out of normal behavoiur. I think they producers did a great job because with this they made us like Layton even more ♥

I'm pretty sure that when Claire goes back to the past, she is specifically going back to the exact moment when the time machine explodes, because that was her entry point into the future to begin with.

Unless...the makers of the games decide to have Claire somehow survive the accident when she travels back to her own time and reunite with Layton (in a future game).
