I feel with you, I really wish he could stay with the swing revival stuff and some of the folk stuff. Sure, plasticities and the other popular songs works. But they aren't his best, not by far.
Also, Bird is a musician. Bird's music has moved people and some people find Bird's music beautiful. Go ahead and tell them they are wrong but remember that you have a habit about making incorrect assumptions about other people.
I can tell the difference between songs by simply listening to them. And if you think songs don't evolve, you may have issues with Devin Townsend (who is my favorite solo musician).
To quote him:
"Evolution is the best bet for music as far as I am concerned."
Bird does evolve some of his songs into other songs.
Here is a nice chart for you to study on what is more complex.
A-----------B-----------------C
A is simple, C is complex.
B is more complex then A, but not at a "complex" level.
Look at that, my logic works.
Bird can play (at least) 4 instruments and wants to do so in his concerts. It is cheaper for him to layer those instruments then hire 3 other musicians.
However, not all of Bird's songs are layered, nor do they have to be for Bird to be classified as a good player.
One musician. Sounds of 3 instruments playing cohesively.
That's more complex than one musician playing one instrument. Even someone with as little sense as you can figure that one out. Right?
And go ahead, be wrong by saying Bird isn't a musician blah blah blah.
And no, I don't think Bird is the best at using a sequencer, so don't even think saying about him "dazzling me" with his "skills," because, as per usual, you'd be wrong.
Bro this is wicked. This is only ONE man. Imagine if we had a whole host of Andrew Bird's! main stream music would be at such a higher caliber.

It's a chart that worked perfectly to fully explain my point but you, in a fit of stubborn ignorance, said it wasn't.
Tsk tsk

For you who is wrong yet again, you don't seem to remember you were posting larger comments than mine.
Now your comments are gone because I had that account banned on completely true accusations.
When I reported you to YouTube, I included the video url and a quote of what you said. There were no false accusations used.

It's not ironic at all.
I made him shut up by getting him banned.
Sure, now the page is full of my comments.

If by craziness you mean "possessing the logic and sense I, wellsungvillain, can never have" then sure, I'm crazy.
My chart showed worked perfectly for the example, you juts can't let yourself tell me I am right.
Which is a shame, considering how wrong you have been compared to how right I have been.

That wasn't a musical track. It was just a chart.
And you make yet another incorrect assumption.
I do no drugs whatsoever.

Actually, I can tell the difference between all of the Bird songs I have heard, even those he "evolves" into other songs.

i think you're referring to keller williams who uses looping in his live act. his shit is overkill. but this stuff is ill and musical
claptonx461 4 years ago
You just love being wrong, don't you?
The layering is done so the songs can be more complex musically without needing more musicians.
Plus, he probably takes pride in playing the instruments himself and needs a way to play several instruments at the same time.

I love this song just as a song AND it's really cool how he layers stuff.
