Nice set up. Do you find your Luxman 590A a good match for the 803 speakers? The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking of getting a pair of 803 Diamonds. Comments in hifi forums appear to indicate that huge power output is required to drive the 803. I'm not entirely sure if these opinions are well founded.
@pervertt The big misunderstanding about 800 series speakers is that they demand a'lot of Wattage.
This is not exactly true. What they really demand is a'lot of efficiency which means a capable power supply and a'lot of current.
The Luxman L590A II as well as being very conservative in In Its wattage statement is very efficient and current providing so It knocks the 803s's out.
@PETROULOP I have measured 105db peaks with absolutely no distortion or the amplifier straining with the volume at 12:05 o clock. Distortion and Hardness begins At 12:15 but we're talking about Literally deafening volumes at that point.
@PETROULOP I have also heard of people driving the 802's with It but do not have personal experience.
The result for me is a match made In Heaven and since the 803D's you're looking at are more efficient than my "S" I don't think there would be a problem driving that extra woofer.
@PETROULOP Thanks for the reassuring reply. I suspected as much - that mega watts are not needed if the amp is high current capable and has good power supplies. I'll hang onto my current amp (80 wpc Class A, dual mono) and make a final call on any replacement after I get the speakers. Cheers.
@pervertt try NAIN supernait with the 803D and enjoy...wonderfull match for rock,blues music.if you are more into high end stuff listen to the kARAN INT180 or vitus audio 100 with the 803d.
Those VU Meters are the peak of cool. I'm looking at the L509U to pair with Klipsch RF7II's. Do the VU meters change color? The Luxman website shows blue and green, but I just saw a video of one with orange ones.

I didn't mean that the ASR is not a worthy machine with my comment, on the contrary It is a very special machine but I would choose the Luxmann for It's a;most unreal purity and fot the better dynamics.
I have ordered the same amplifier L-590A ii to replace my Mcintosh MA2275 although taking a big chance because I have never actually heard the Luxman. Waited 2 months already, due soon, I have been told it will blow the Mcintosh away - I really really hope so, big gamble!!!!!
The system sounds spectacular and really doesn't really need any tweak, what isn't shown in the video is that the room is actually alot larger and with a very high ceiling

I might tend to agree on the speakers placement, but we all work with what we have. You might consider to a few foam acoustic tiles behind the speakers, but overall, it sounds very good.

Curious, what is that amp with the meters? I would say Luxman, but it doesn't quite look right for that.
if you are happy .... you too much stuff between the B & W, also a minimum distance of 1 meter from any wall you would make a great difference. you may not have enough space ....
I heard them described as well-positioned and believe me this is valid to make any speaker sound good ..
I believe you and as I saw in your channel you are a very lucky man to have your own specially made room for listening so that you can take advantage of all of your system's benefits enjoy It!
Good system,i like B&w 803S... but you have the positioned them very poorly.Too close to the corners and side cabinets. Certainly a very poor stereo image.
It is a worthwhile upgrade for a modest price though the sound with the speed box does not have a night and day difference you will clearly notice an improvement in bass and a more silky smooth (less grainy) and "analog" overall result.
Enjoy them they are very special and even though very expensive they are cheap for what they play.
Just be patient with burning in, mine took about a Year....

I checked, there is an ASR Emitter at £6,800 and an ASR Emitter II at £13,500. Which one have you heard? The Luxman L-590A ii is £6,500 at present.

To my ears It blows the ASR EMITTER away by far.
Remember to get full performance It needs a 400hr breakin time the difference after breakin is that of between amazing and spectacular.
The best amp Ihave heard sofar.

Yes the speed box made a difference.
As for the positioning of the speakers I am quite happy with It (stereo image and everything).
You seem to be so certain I am wasting them due to poor positioning do you have the same in a different kind of setup?
