that part of the movie was pretty creepy to me. kids go smoking and drinking and turn into donkeys in a horrifying way.

i always thought this song was about 1. the disney movie and 2. conforming to unhealthy, unnatural conditions and becoming one of the masses with senses too addled to understand their condition. wow i feel dumb now.

the meaning of teh song is extrmely easy to understand..but those boys deserved what was coming for them. pleasure cheats you into thinking everything will be fine and perfect...but your being cheated and ironacly (in here) being turned into a "jack-ass", becuase you are ass to beilive that "pleasure" or "pleasure island" in thise case will answer all you questiuons. The theme off all this is so that the children indulged themselves. They did sinful things, like, they gambled, smoke, drank and vandalized, so as a curse, they turned into jackasses themselves. It is a state of metemorphicness,[if thats a word?] andlike a curse... and so they became cattle. As humiliation.

It is a rather sinister song, just right for Halloween, and yes, the video provides the perfect accompaniment. Btw, I recently got to play the Coachman in a play of PINOCCHIO, and managed to scare quite a few kids in the cast, as well as the audience!
