  • Kennesaw and Bud-K have a Mora copy called the "Wahoo Killer," and copy a Mora 860mg Clipper except the Wahoo is black with blue trim. They cost $1.99 a piece. I bought 4. I took one apart. It is built exact to the 860 in all dimensions. It is stainless, comes with a typical plastic Mora style sheath. I ran mine through the gauntlet and it holds and takes an edge well, batons, cut, slice, shave, curls well as the Mora. Worse for last, it is made in China. Mine came shave sharp. Good Work Dave!

  • WHAT! scharpening an axe with file!

  • maybe it say's axe on it, its a fucking hatchet. have people some how forgot what a hatchet is?

  • @kght222 shit face a hatchet is a small axe.

  • Thanks Dave u honour me

  • This flashlights sucks! Works good when new, after year accu was broke and its imposible to charge it no matter how hard u spining. Dont buy that crap guys. But Jansport bacpack is great. • LOL - MADE IN CHINA

  • I bought a 40 ounce greenline stainless steel bottle at a local dunhams and just got a 40 ounce bottle from your site. they are both made out of the same materials but had different sized openings. now I have two along with nesting cups. The greenline even kept the lettering on the side after being in the fire. The smaller stainless bottles I had to burn the paint off in the fire to be sure it was hot water safe from chemicals and actually one piece construction.

  • enjoying the discount videos dave good work

  • 48 Damn I spent more on that for any of my knives, any one of my flashlights, or the majority of my multi tools. But what do you expect when your buying spyderco, SOG, Leatherman, Victorinox, and 4Sevens. Great video

  • i have one its pretty good

  • dave your awesome

  • You can make a canteen cup with an old can, then fill the space with tin foil, or other stuff

  • From Portugal. I can not find camouflage tarp here. I'm sad.

  • D: i can't believe you just threw out the cookie sticks! those things are delicious.

  • @ja2595 Based on the SAN project, from what I see, most of us do NOT need the cookies!!!!!

  • @PracticalBushcraft1 i never said they were useful for bushcraft, just that they're good...you actually CAN eat them at home when you're NOT in the bush...

  • i am from cuba

  • Who the hell dislike this?

  • capitalism is survival_._

  • @FalltoAbism Go to Cuba and be happy there, LOL

  • Just watched this video to see what sort of things you would add in your kit for little money. Just got to say that i was very impressed with the idea of using a dog bowl! Much cheaper than a trangia!

  • is mrs.pathfinder your wife

  • IRIS!! stop being so camera shy.i know you have watched that program with Hawk and his wife on the husband and wife survival show.if she can Iris you can.

and we wont bite ya out here.i would think by Now the pathfinder YouTube web page are all family.. so come Iris I hope every one else will encourage Iris as well.

  • harbor freight has some good stuff too

  • Couldn't u use the rope to make your snares ? And awesome videos :) but you should do one surviving for 24 hours with your son

  • what is the notch on on the axe head for

  • im not a fan of the heavy axe you're arm will be tired after a couple of swings

  • at :28 was that cigarette smoke?

  • @astrofishy35 He is a smoker. He said so in "Dual survival".

  • @MrAngerman100 hmm... i must have missed that episode.

  • @astrofishy35 Sorry, it was a movie here on youtube (my bad) :)

  • jansport put me through middle school and highschool and im almost 30 still got it and i put that poor guy through hell son

  • Jansports are cheap but I have had one since I was13. I'm 30 now and it hasn't failed me yet.

  • Thanks for the vid- another great place to find good quality, inexpensive gear is "antique" flea market complexes. A lot of older stuff was made to last for several lifetimes, and were likely made less than a whole lifetime ago, so hey- two or more lifetimes left, and often a nifty design to boot! Small cast iron toys to keep kids calm in a survival situation can be a good idea, too.

  • @benskin79 You just have to watch for lead paint there. Older generations didn't know the harms of lead paint, so if you buy something be sure to check if it is lead paint, and if so sand off any paint and cover it up with primer, and non-toxic paint and clear to prevent rust and bacteria buildup.

  • @soulevs

Very good point! I wasn't even considering lead paint, because I myself already abstain from purchasing anything with a painted finish, but that is too important to not mention, thanks.

  • You Know Dave - I complement on you shopping skills! I also complement you for including you wife in this video. If it wasn't for a good wife that supports you, this segment wouldn't be worth a crap! Your vids. are outstanding! Put your wife into some of your vids. God Bless Both of You!

  • Mrs Canterbury is very pretty.

  • Good stuff, enjoyed this! thanks

  • haha i have the same hazelnut can

  • Your wife is pretty. Thanks for your video's.

  • Cool trip......lol

  • i just seen this vid a couple years late,i actually have the knife in this vidoe, carried it for two years now.for the money it's not bad.the large star screw on the blade pivot can be adjusted .great vid Dave

  • Mrs. Canterbury does not approve.

  • VENESSON.FOR A BUCK GET ME FIDDLE N SAW....

  • YO DAVE AND MRS DAVE MAY THE DEAR CATCH YO TRAP...

  • janport pack for $4??? what?? in new zealand, its $75 :(

  • @Tankinator1000 used from a second hand store

  • @KrysNolatari ohh ok haha

  • @Tankinator1000

    $4 at Goodwill. Not retail.

  • @CanItAlready aw cool thanks :D

  • those hatchet heads are good, but the handles are garbage, bend in half if ya look at em wrong. spend the extra $3-$4 for a wood handle.

  • the slotted spoon couldn't you make that into a frog gig?

  • i'm thinking about getting into bushcraft, i already go camping with my son alot and have quite a few basic survival skills and i have a sog seal pup and the rest of this besides the folding knife. am i good to start? any tips?

  • @myfacejj Tell two people you trust: where you are going how long you expect to be gone exactly when to call emergency services if you don't come back and have fun

  • How about a whistle? Survival bag or foil blanket? First aid kit?

  • good video. i'm pretty new to the survival stuff so i've got a question. what's the difference in a bug out bag and a bushcraft kit?

  • @flippin76 bug out is a 72 hour kit and bushcraft is a survival kit

  • You can get a 1Liter stainless steel bottle of vodka for 13$ at the liquor store, too. Basically, it's a free stainless steel bottle for buying something you love anyway.

  • I have that knife and I can tell you it's a dream.

  • something i like to add to mine is a small bottle of denatured alcohol, an empty tuna tin and tampons... yes tampons if you slit open a tampon you get 1000 times the amount of cotton than having cotton balls plus theyre water proof.

i put cotton wool into the tuna tin with about 2 tea spoons of de natured alcohol and that baby will burn for a good twenty minutes. i use it if its been raining and theres no dry wood so i can still cook a meal.

  • youre sure that the water bottle isn't a vacuüm insulated ;P

otherwise it wouldn't work over a fire

sorry about my english im dutch :)

    Lars

  • nice video thanks

  • I got a 40 square foot reversible tarp for a scouting activity I went on last year for $10

  • America is pretty cheap if you're looking for good Tools and Stuff like this. The Knife looks amazing for 6 Dollars, unbelievable. Also the Flashlight and the Axe.

    Nice Vid, thanks.

  • LMAO Dave says I might be better off buying this stuff off my own website..... Yet hes out looking for cheaper, Hey atleast he honest!

  • thumbs up for shelling out the extra 3 bucks for camo

  • im from Va and ive never seen a crank flashlight for that cheap. Thats freaking awesome.

  • very kool vid,i bought 1 of the lifeline water bottles as a part for my forge, they last forever

  • We need a Menards in South Carolina. A knife for 7 bucks, heck yeah.

  • We need a Menards in South Carolina. A knife gor 6 bucks, heck yeah.

  • nice plastick wife ;-)

  • damn and i thought a $30 knife was a good deal...

    Although U.S $30 is about $50 NZ $

  • ONE IMPORTING THING YOU FORGOT AND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WHO POST THIS KINDA STUFF FORGET. "MACHETE" AND THAT AXE WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND IN THE WOODS. USE THE MACHETE AS A WEDGE AND CUT WOOD LIKE A PRO, THE AXE TURNED AROUND MAKES A GOOD HAMMER KINDLING, BORDS, PLUS ITS EXALENT PROTECTION IN THE WOODS, BEAR, BORE, KILLS FAST!!! ALL WAYS STAY COOL WHEN IN THAT SITUATION.

  • Anyone know of a capacitor based dynamo torch rather then rechargable battery based ones?

  • The hazelnut coffee dripper things are nice, don't trash em :-D Might be made of poison but meh

  • Thumbs up if you thought Menards was pronounced funny

  • Trash the hazelnut coffee dippers? Really? I like those. Survival expert who wastes good food. Disappointed in you Dave. :)

  • In the UK we have the 99p shops, It's amazing the bargains you can find in there. I am tempted to make a video myself showing all the useful items that can be bought (and modified) from pound shops for bushcraft purposes. I have just recently made lightweight basha poles from telescopic fishing rods bought from the pound shop for example.

  • nice.

some of my favorite vids in your series were these discount bushcraft kits.

congrats on the show watch it all the time.

  • What.... you obviously need a container to drink pee from.

  • Megin is also a woman driver llllllllllllllllllllllll vvvvvvvvvvvvvv

  • Hi I'm Megan, my grandmother owns Military Surplus and everything that you said was over priced was used by the U.S.A. military and made in the U.S.A. Unlike everything else that is made in China or Japan. By the way you should not be taking cameras into stores and video taping THATS JUST NOT RIGHT, you need permission. we need to make some profit from our items! :(

  • @sweetdog38 your grandmothers store is over priced.... you should change that and then you would make profit.

  • Ua I see women driver

  • Great video, the best store is walmart. They have everything including 6 dollar machetes

  • @PAsurvival i got one of those machetes a while ago. pretty crappy but fro 6 bucks if u put an edge on it it will make a good back up

  • LMAOROF!! Good on ya Dave! My Cook hates when I do that kind of stunt with her as well I think Most Shella's are the same all over the Planet!! lol Good try mate

  • I definitely need to go check out the stores you went to-- looks like a fun time. :)

    Thanks for the video.

  • what camera do u use

  • a mora knife would be a good choice as well. Theyre the most high value bushcraft knives made.

  • Your wife kept saying "no"

  • 30$??? This is 2011 as much as I appreciate Daves bush wisdom, a person should be willing to foot the bill for something so important. Instead of buying a new TV for 500$ go and get some top notch gear, not this junk.

  • @MrXxmetalxx kool thnks for the info

  • You are Dave Canterbury from Dual Survivor right?

  • arent u from dul survival? u look exactly like the dude

  • Gees, don't have those fancy stores in my country town!

  • do u smoke dave?

  • love it being new to bushcraft im enjoying learning as much as i can so thanks

  • she seems pissed at the start haha

  • nice good vid.

  • hey arent those stainless steel bottles double walled? because if so, they explode under too much heat right?

or are those bottles the SIGG style with a single wall?

  • Thanks sir. Learning a lot!

  • arnet you on dual survival on the discovery networks

  • hey dave what state do u live in

  • @brandonvocke ohio

  • @brandonvocke ohio

  • When u were looking at the tarps the one with silver would be my choice for the warmth it has and for signaling

  • @tesasoutdoorsman123 aluminum is bad for you and stainless steel in safer and stronger

  • @survivalkiing Until I watched this video, I've always preferred stainless steel little 1 quart pots for boiling water rather than expecting the "stainless steel" waterbottles to be designed for the fire. I don't trust any aluminum cookware. The aluminum always left a bad taste in the pan it was cooked in.

  • Well done Dave!! I agree with Raykenn1 about the garbage bags.

  • Don't just take Dave's word for it. Go out and use your stuff! Take a couple days to actualy go out and see if you can make it with the stuff you have. Bring food but use it only if you fail. But remember, you fail in the real world you die. :)

  • in australia one of those tarps would be like 20 dollars!! and the knife would be about the same as tarp !!

  • Thank you Dave!!!!!

  • personaly i would have added a shotgun.

  • hey dave i went to dollar tree and found a water bottle for a doller bur im not sure if its safe to heat up in a fire it says its made in china and it says it is made of aluminum is it safe to heat it up?

  • Great video. Don't forget two contractor size heavy duty garbage bags. With them you have a quick poncho or when stuffed with dry grass or leaves, a pretty warm sleeping bag.

  • This is a great video. More people need to take a page from this guys book. My friends are baffled by how good my supercheap ultralighwight pack performs. Way to show em Dave.

  • 20 bucks?!?!?!?! I spent 3 times that much just on my backpack!

  • at the army surplus in my town u can get a meal kit for 10 bucks and utensils included

  • what Striker Fire Starter do you like to pack

  • hoho dont mock the womens driving skills, ive tried it, it usually hurts :P

  • What about opinel knives? super cheap high carbon steal and thetwist lock mechanism. i threw the #12 in my pack.

  • @lmp900 great knife can do most things except battoning, great knves, easy to keep sharp and can get a razor edge, just wont last as long as some knives! Size eight or above are best in my opinion!

  • tractor supply dog food boles are like gold........and cost like pennis .........thanks Dave

  • axe was from big lots

  • Why not a mora knife or a finn bear? Thx!

  • do you live in bremerton washington?

  • @MadNerf don't reply to him! He is a n00b/nerd! I repeat do not reply to him!

  • Dave when will the new episodes of dual survival start?

  • one thing i would add would be a emergency blanket. cheap light and really helps hold heat.

  • "wow, these prices are higher than my website," -Dave

  • oh good you did mention mora blades , because i think there knifes beat all others by far in price and quality,

  • Take the cut off of the spoon and use that to make a handle for the pot. Actually its a decent kit for $50. Myself I would have taken 2 of the reversable tarps at 2 bucks each. The silver would reflect heat or be handy as a signal device.... But I really Like the kit. Yes I found Surplus shops to be a waste of money these days...I avoid them. But ty

  • nice kit may make one for my bro

  • holy shit an Ollies!!!

  • its the guy from dual survival.

  • @Vermen1 Yes

  • meal kit $20 used. that's ridiculous. I picked up on for $3 at a flea market.

  • I guess Army surplus stores are the same everywhere - a rip off! I thought I would be going cheap, but the guy was only a couple bucks lower then if I bought brand new.

  • one thing that is worty of noting before buying anything from a bargain shop is the quality and durability of the item. so be sure it is sturdy and robust enough for the tasks you will use it for. one thing dave illustrates well in his videos is the inspection process when selecting items,(i.e., what WORKS and what will work WELL!) so pay attention folks, because this step is arguably one of the most important steps you will take when it comes to survival in the bush. love your videos dave! :)

  • awesome man! very much appreciated!

  • Great job. Amazing. Now no one has an excuse for not being prepared. Excellent job of improvising and making use of a small budget. Keep up the good work Dave. Love your Dual Survival program - it's the best. Keep on Prepping.

  • goes to show you dont need mega money for a good bushcraft kit, good video dave

  • @i500x and the canteen cup would do just that for less money and also save space in your pack cause the canteen fits inside the cup

  • hey did you go to the army?

  • @vernondewinnaarsta He was a sniper, yeah.

  • I made the mistake or going into my local Army Surplus in Savannah. What a fricken ripoff! Med. Alice pack w/ frame for low low price of only 90 bucks !!! I asked if it came with KY Jelly as I walked out the door. You can't beat online for the rock bottom prices.

  • Nice video.

  • Big lots,,,we sell broken s#*@

  • @PACER2320 its a good place to get cheap experimental energy drinks that may or may not kill you

  • OMG! I have got the same Folder knife! It's awesome!

  • dollar tree was playin the jam lol

  • check out a hobo tool. best untensil kit imo

  • what do you think about a jet lighter as a fire making option?

  • @belacool for teporary survival its tits but if ur stranded for a long time you might wish you had the fire steel but with both iteams being small you can probably carry both
