First of all, I'm a Celtics fan and I have a large amount of healthy respect for the Los Angeles Lakers, but losing Pau Gasol doesn't quite compare to the loss of Kevin Garnett. I'm not making any excuses for the Celtics' failure to win the NBA Championship in 2009; injuries are part of the game, and while they may be brutal, you have to play past them. Now, Gasol and Garnett both play power forward and both are accomplished post scorers, but KG is a much better defender and emotional leader.
