I was on 6th St in Austin. There was an outside stage and the power went out on this number. Darn! They kept playing. Sounded really bad. Low volume. Bummer.
If anyone knows Ian please send him or make him aware of all these comments so he understands that nearly everone on youtube has the same thing to say about his style for the last 5-7 years. He needs the constructive criticism. The people watching these videos and making these comments are his true fans and understand he is best at the soulful blues rock.
I dont really care why he changed,, what matters is he did change,,, i miss the soundtrack to my teens,, nothing truly great ever lasts forever.. at least we still have his old music. saw him and lee persons @ antones sxsw in 96,,, lee was the better crowd pleaser,,, what ever happened to him? I remember he set his guitar on fire,.. that old cookie monster
I was there!! On Memorial Day. He had just cut his hair which kinda freaked me out. Remember the power went out for about ten minutes and we had to listen to ol what's his name from KLOL practically grovel about "his best friend" Ian. Kinda GAY, if you ask me...but IAN ROCKED the place too bad ol' Ian forgot what made him famous. I haven't bought any of his music since Mondernday Folklore
Ian Moore is greatness and the performance of this song was the death of what Ian used to be. It was not a "PC" message and it pissed off a lot of people. Since then Ian has tried to deliver a better message in his songs and dig for a more spiritual experience through these life changes. If he never would have written Harlem, we might have seen the second coming of Stevie Ray. He would have kept to this type of hard nose Texas blues. Long live the old Ian Moore!~
Bullshit! You think Muddy Jesus was politically correct? Ian mellowed 'cuz he was intimidated by fame, just as many other excellent artists have been. Besides, better Stevie Ray Vaughan wannabes can be found in every other bar lining Austin's Sixth Street.
None of us knows exactly why Ian 'changed his tune'. I've heard it was because of everybody WANTING him to be the next coming of SRV. Pigeon holding him into something, so he gave everyone the finger and changed gears. If you choose to buy into that theory, you can start drawing connections between his lyrics. Eg: Stain - "Everytime that I find something I hold sacred, my identity you strip from me, my heart my soul".
...These guys were riding a wave of magic...some lucky few only get 15 minutes of it and then it's gone...Lucky to have caught them in Philly...best show I ever saw...
I was friends with Mike more than Ian, but I had always hoped that America would embraced what Austin loved so much. I still listen to these guys all the time. Years ahead of the rest of the world. Too bad. Great band - great talent- great guys.
no disrepect to ian but this is so so so good as was all his stuff then.I have seen them all and this ian moore had it all.he must be on some really bad antidepressants or something because is truly a bore now.WTF is up with that.
Wish someone had a copy of how does it feel! I remember going and seeing Ian back in 1992 at Cafe on the Square in San Marcos Texas just south of Austin! What a bad ass!
Just awesome. I totally typed in his name as a lark. I remember seeing him in Milwuakee (where I live) 2 times....just blew me away! Great guitar & a helluva singer. nakedlunch02 is right --- come on back to the blues!!
Man this is The shit!! seeing this took me back. Thannks for posting this.this is when Ian Moore was Ian Moore, he was THE Blues guitar god of Austin back in the 90's, every show at Steamboat packed.. Then he went to playing that pansy shit really sad to see someone with so much talent just let it waste away. I wish he would come back to blues, and Austin, the Blues is really blowing up here again recently. Ian COME BACK MAN WE NEED YA!!!!

Saw Ian live at East Beach on Galveston Island in the late 90's. Couldn't count how many bras he had tossed up on stage by women in the audience!
