  • I have this cd and a few of the songs in it make me want to cry which is very rare it may be that I am 1/8 irish or that somewhere in that black hole in my chest is a heart lol either way they move me so

  • I cant stop listening to thiss.

  • Tom waits

  • The Cottars have the most amazing version of this song. I wish there was a version of this on youtube, but I've not found it yet.

    Still, a nice version.

  • Tom Waits - what a genius. He can do anything, including write a contemporary folk standard of uncommon beauty.

  • I somehow feel connected to irish celtic music having the name Niamh :D

  • okey i have this cd! and i LOVE this song! just saying

  • Her voice is that of an angel. I use this CD to calm me and comfort me. It makes me feel at peace so sleep can take me.

  • The lady singing is Niamh Parsons and the man is Fran Mc Phail of the Voice Squad

  • This voice sounds very much like June Tabor if I am not mistaken. So beautiful!...

  • I do not know who the female singer is in this song but i know the man is from The Voice Squad

  • What an awesome song! Always loved it and it fits so nicely to a beauty and beast theme.

  • I have to intercede here to say, that this is NOT an Irish song, but was written by San Diegan, Tom Waits. He has never really spoken as to why he wrote it, but it is universally embraced by gaels/celts worldwide.

  • I have to intercede here, to point out that this is NOT an Irish song, but was written by San Diegan, Tom Waits.

  • GREAT CD!!! what a cool harmony ... I hope my little girls loves this song @ 16.

  • I love this song... I do my homework to it. it is actualy the most played song on my Ipod... who would have guessed a 16 year old would like celtic?

  • What a pathetic thing to say... Celtic is for any and all ages. Who's to say it's uncommon for a 16-year-old to like Celtic music?

  • Hey, I'm 13 and have been listening to Irish music since I was 12! My mom hates it, but I <333 Celtic things...

  • @hiddenpoetintheband Not me, considering there is nothing celtic about the song, other then the band singing it. This is actually a Tom Waits song. A lovely tune, both original and covered. I recommend you check out the original, Tom Waits is an incredible and vastly underrated artist. This from someone who loves celtic music as well.

  • @and0the0drums it is so very cleansing

  • That was gorgeous. That 's the first time I've ever head anyone cover one of my favourite Tom Waits tunes so well. It's well suited to that style. Maybe me being Scottish helps, mind you! :-)

  • Listen to Holly Cole - The Briar and the Rose with the Canadian Brass - +++++++!
