my computer is 9 years old and came with an home edition windows xp now ive just installed the beta version of windows 7 and it works like a charm so far no problems, but i havent put it to the test yet but so far it works great!

Ok, i'll take your word for it, however there's thousands of distros based on linux, what hasn't been done in linux? Every time there's a new feature all I hear is, "Linux did it First" why is it that when OS X came out with the dock nobody screamed linux did it first? OS X took a TON from linux and so does microsoft. However, Microsoft and Apple, unlike linux has been able to bring some linux features into an operating system that is easy to use.

Google "Difference between Unix and Linux", they are different. Linux is just a kernal basically. If you go to OS X's wiki page you will also see that it is not a linux based kernal. It has Unix components pretty much.

lol macs are soooo much better. Windows 7 has not fixed any of the problems in vista, and it is pretty much the same, and at least 5 years behind mac. if people want to play games on the PC, just do that by running windows on the mac when you want to play games.

and btw mac WILL become more popular than PC because they are making a very big comeback atm. windows is a failing OS and that is helping macs comeback!

Macs sucks, I know, because I have one. That irritating menu bar at the top that forces you to make way too many mouse movements, the lack of fucking shortcuts, the stupid acceleration curve of the mouse that even Mac fanboys complain about, etc... And running applications is a disaster, Maya is fuckign unstable on the Mac and Photoshop CS4 can only be run in 32 bit and is slow like hell compared to Photoshop CS4 64 bit on Vista X64.

And don't go telling here that Macs are years ahead. Take for example 64 bit. Windows already had a 64 bit version of the kernel in XP in 2001 for Titanium, Apple will only get a 64 bit kernel with the release of Snow Leopard, that's fucking 8 years later! lol Even if you don't own a Mac, you can already sense how crappy their OS by looking at the highly irritating prorgams like iTunes and QuickTime for Windows, never seen such crap in my life, tons of horror stories about these on the internet!

Do Window users need to install OS X to run games? And oh my God.... don't get me going on hardware!!! Yeah but macs don't have viruses!!!!!!! Ok!!!! Omg that's the most annoying thing about pcs, sure ther are good wen they are new, but they get so slow cause of viruses and crashes! And no virus protection software can keep out that. Yeah they are different to use and some may say harder to use, but in fact they have more shortcuts than windows, and once you get used to it, it's better to use, because you are hardly ever angry at the computer.

Ok true mac has not caught up with 64 bit for a while, but everything else, they are better at. If you want value for money with a computer that lasts for over 10 years, a computer that just works for gods sake! (where as with pcs, you would have to be a computer nerd to make that happen- which most of us aren't), then mac is clearly cooler! N Photoshop is probly running faster on your pc because you have some sort of super pumped out configuration which u spent A LOT on.

Its just the number, its actually name is pronounced in a foreign language like how Vista is. Its a rather more complicated word then Vista so everyone just says Windows 7. If you google it you will find the real name, i think it also starts with a V.
