Actually it's not just Christians who support equal marriage rights for all people. In addition to the Christian ministers from our area who oppose Proposition 8, there are also a number of ministers from other traditions who oppose Proposition 8 too.
why can't christian people from all walks of live just shut the f&^* up!!! everyones life is just between the person and thelord. lets respect everyone and if you want to marry the same then do it. why do people think you have to have the governments approval. its between you and the lord. i hate hearing people gay bash and i think everyone should be equal. if we took away hate and added respect and more love then maybe everyone would just get along and be happy rather they prefer something else
explain to me why jesus was nailed to a cross and experienced hate basically b/c he was different. its that kinda similar hate that most heterosexual christian people hold against homos.i thought we suppose to love. then i guess love DOES have limits. so in that case.what if god said heterosexuality was wrong and they had to turn homos. then i would laugh. its so easy for others to walk in shoes they have never put on. i am a hetero christian but im so sick of this topic. lets love and respect
It is great to see people of God expressing inclusive views. So often, the press cow-tows to the "Religious Right." I think the passages thought to condemn homosexuality have been misinterpreted, mistranslated, and in at least one edition, just simply made up by modern editors because the Bible doesn't say what they wanted. I teach a two-hour course of the Bible and Homosexuality fairly regularly. Drop me an e-mail if you're interested and I'll invite you next time I teach it.

* Tenth Amendment The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
As NO Legislative body ever passed a Law to REMOVE the right of Same Sex Couples to marry, that Right is RETAINED by the people.
I think the 9th amendment was meant as a way to defend certain people. Such as, a law designating it a hate crime to kill an African American cannot be construed as denying rights to others
