To me, it reminds me that we all need a place where we can go when there's nowhere else. Bruce went to The River, because that's where he spent time with Mary, but now, 'The River is dry' - Just like their love.

The River is the first song i remember in my life....probably because its the only song that had meaning at the time. Love Springsteen because he tells stories, he is real and you can feal his emotions through his words. Poetic, Folk And Rock . To me he is a beautiful, powerful and soulful musician.
