Goku & Vegeta are commenting in disappointment on Gohan because they remember him having more power & fighting sharper than this when he was doing his best before.

If he were just a SSj, they wouldn't be commenting on his lowered fighting power, but why he wouldn't be summoning more power to fight Dabura.

And Gohan did get hurt by some of the attacks that Dabura inflicted on him, only that none of them were grievous.

@BobaDavis I don't believe dabura was fighting at his max soey on the fact that he never truely powered up, but not only that Dabura doesnt even look like he's serious. Then we never got to see him going all out most likely because he was stronger than Cell and would've killed Gohan who had become much weaker. It's basically the same scenerio with King Cold, who in retrospect is suppose to be able to tranform 2 more times than frieza but one more than Cooler. Yet we never see their full powers

Some say his bang is different b/t the two forms and some say he was ss2 but they didnt add the lightning effect because of budget issues(if that was the case why did Majin Vegeta and Goku have it & why did he have it at the tournament) but there was real indication of SS2

I don't know if the artist team got lazy or just wanted to cut a few corners, but if you see Great Saiyaman Gohan in the manga, his SSJ2 looks similar to Future Trunks' hair, during the Cell Games, so in that, there can be no mistake about his transformation.

In his first apperance Broly beat 2 Full Powered SSJ(goku and Gohan) + 2 Ascended Sayains + 1 Super Namekian and still beat them badly. So when Goku absored their energy he at least had to be around SS2 Gohan with his damaged arm whose power was cut in half. As for the The Second Coming that movie was a joke and made a complete joke of Broly

@kinglouis1993 But see, that's my point. There's nothing to say that Piccolo was fused with Kami in that movie. There's nothing to say that any Saiyan was ascended. Goku certainly didn't look ascended, and he's always the strongest of them. That's like Vegeta, who in later movies looks like he's in the Buu Saga phase of his life, yet his powering up and hair don't make you think SSJ2. It's like, the more you look at the movies, the more you see that they really aren't parallel with the series.

@BobaDavis Actually everything about the characters suggest their level of strength. There's one charcter who's actually the major key in what i said and that charcter is Super Sayain Gohan. See Gohan didnt become SS until after Piccolo fused with Kami and after Vegeta and Trunks exited the chamber. Its also state that the movie takes place after Goku and Gohan exit the chamber. Stating the Vegeta and Trunks had already ascended and Goku and Gohan were at full power

@kinglouis1993 I know what you mean, but the movies don't coincide with the series. That's how you end up with an Adult Gohan only being SSJ in, "The Second Coming". It really looks like the movies just took components from the series and went from there. If it were true that they were at that point, they should have met Broly near equal or better. This is why the movies shouldn't be compared to the series, they're just their own thing.

And while I do like Broly, on account of his being so unique as a Saiyan, it's because of his unique transformation which makes him something not to be taken seriously. There isn't a movie character that the show makes reference to, so they're all just "alternate universe" type things.
