  • I meant to say from her

  • opacada? no comparto. this one is much more melodic, deep and the performance so human. Janis was this song and maybe all we needed for her.

  • ...por fin subieron este tema ¡¡¡ Gracias mil....bonita balada, opacada por "At Seventeen", but both are very beatiful songs....

  • As a naiive youth it never occured to me that girls could be lonely and perhaps unloved until......

  • You have made me discover this singer (never heard before!) Really beautiful!

    Thanks for sharing

  • This song was on the flip side of the At Seventeen 45 rpm record. I was seventeen when it came out and related to both songs. My teen years were pretty intense in 1975. I can only imagine what teenagers go though now. It’s been over three decades since I heard this.

    Janis Ian is unique.

  • Stars is by far the best work from Janis and that's saying something. It is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Janis sang this on the Old Grey Whistle Test in the 70's. I was stunned by the beauty of it then as I am now.

  • X Factor people... take note...

  • @sysiphuscorinth Ain't that the truth.

  • all who wish to perform should listen to this song. first song i heard janis sing.hopefully will here stars again sunday night in edinburgh, she always comes up singing.

  • Memories

  • Sad, sad but pretty.

  • Om dit nummer moet ik altijd keihard huilen. Stamt uit de tijd dat het niet bepaald goed met me ging. De tekst en de melancholie van het nummer raakte me enorm (en nog steeds).

  • "At Seventeen" is her best known work, and perhaps rightly so. But this is her best...

  • I used to turn off all the lights, light a candle, and enjoy the turquoise glow of the stereo receiver in the tiny second floor bedroom in my squalid Graduate School apartment in Gainesville, Florida, and 'bathe' myself in the depth of yearning in this song. Wanting to be a good artist and wanting to have a good love, the tears would flow in the often disappointment of that dual quest at that point in my life.

  • @Zeppolino100 I was dancing to this music in Gainesville back in these yrs, as well. I was feeling the sorrow of how so many didn't~weren't willing to LOVE from the most vulnerable, Sacred space... I had moved from N Cali and a wonderful community unable to find that "circle" in FL. Her music still touches my heart~

  • @Zeppolino100 I also listen to the song today and remmber the record player's glow as I layed with my first love in this world in Sommerville, Massachusetts.. Those memories hurt so much today but I suppose it's better than not having the memories at all. Let's drink to the tears.

  • sounds just like it did 30 yrs ago what talent

  • For years i know this song and until today i didn't know who the interpreted. I have just found the information in the network and i am already down an album by Janis Ian :)

  • This is just wonderful. I have this album many years now and still love it so much. Thanks for loading...

  • wonderful song. reminds me of when I was 16 listening to this in my room.

    "stars they come and go...

they go like the last light of the sun"
