It seems like you're just beginning bodybuilding. Work your triceps and your back. Get some weight and then define your muscles. Every thin guy can look like you after one year of training (not of HARD training, a bit is enough).
He's not struggling. Bodybuilders often put everything into it when they flex...flexing as hard as they can. Even during competitions, one can occasionally hear a bodybuilder growl or grunt as they flex really hard. Phil obviously really gets into it!
