While, technically, it would be good information, the way it is set up, it doesn't really matter a whole bunch. Most ATAPI drives now ship set to Cable Select, which is the optimal position. However, if it is set to "master" (which happens occasionally), then the other drive (which is set to CS by default) should automatically report as "slave". Same thing if the new drive is set to Slave (which is incredibly rare).
