to go to Italy? -can you plant flowers or grow vegetables in Italy if you like it? (that's what my mom like to do at dacha)...also at dacha you can invite friends for weekend overnight with kids and to go fishing togeather etc...then a lot of fun is to do things around a house - also a lot of Russians like to do homemade vine (of berries from the forest) there, or homemade jam from what they grow themselves in their gardens - absolutelly different expirience then to go to Italy..
This is so interesting. I'll definitely watch more of Russia Today and especially this programme. It was good to learn more about the history of the dacha. I look forward to watching more of Martin Andrew.

Some of my happiest memories are childhood summers at my Granny's dacha. :)

in Russia csar gave out dachas to his puppets. In America there is now a car csar, who gives out cars to his puppets.
