I heard from some of my JROTC friends at school, and did some research, that you can be a Scout Sniper if you have correctable vision 20/20 by glasses. So I believe you can, I wear glasses too and I too want to be a Marine Scout Sniper.

u enlist then take recon training then u can chose to be a sniper then go to sniper school and that takes time

first you enlist and it has to be 03 field. Then if your lucky enough to find a indoc for a SSP and get in, then you have a lot of learning to do before you even get a school slot. Sometimes the SSP's wont even look at you for an indoc unless you have had a deployment. Recon training has nothing to do with it as a pre req. however, it wouldnt hurt. Ive been a HOG for little over two years now and it was a long road to go down. Its very difficult.

and I've heard of Marines getting bursts on target out to 1200yds with a SAW having fired only 2-3 bursts, shooting off of the bipod

As of now Im running a 6 min 21 second mile and a consistant 6 min 45 after that for the next two miles. Will Marine Boot get my mile times down to at least consistant 6 minfor three miles? Or will I have to do PT on my own time in order to get those times down after SOI?

that is already a fantastic run time, when i graduated boot it was with a 21:15 run time. still 1st class pft, but when you hit fleet, you still run ALOT. you will have plenty of time to work on that. You should be fine. Concentrate on pullsups the most. Those kill you if your not prepared.

Im working on getting my qualifications up for the PFT but im only 15 right now, Im going to Devil Pups this summer for a taste, and a bit of PT, any suggestions? I am currently training with my step dad whose a body builder, so I think im set on PT. What else should I learn, or even master before boot?

Just take your own practice PFTs as often as possible and by the time you're old enough you'll be more than ready for BCT and combat. Also practicing with an AR-15 would help.

yeah thats what my plan is right now, im doing that for the Devil Pups too, everyweek till July 28th im testing myself, and running everyday, along with working out. And its funny u say the AR-15 cuz i was just talkin to my step dad and he told me about how our friend is building one, and I suggesting practising with it.. so yeah..

Yea basically the same I follow. Stopped running for six months and my time went from 5:30 for the first mile to 6:50 so it's important to keep up the work.

I know it's a little late, but you need to learn how to spot specific details about an area. You need to know how to call winds because you will be with a partner and if you fail calling wind, he fails. And you need to be able to hit a target 10 football fields away with an issued M40A1 or A3. And one last thing, i think. You need to know how to be invisible. There is a test where you start from 1000 to 800 yards away from an officer and sneak up to about 200 yards and hit a target. I'm 15 too.
