@bren1231001 and John Jorgenson. along with Will Ray and Jerry Donahue were in the Hellecasters...a Tele-heavy trio that cranked out some pretty awesome music.....excellent jazz, country and blues
As long as this world turns, "Turn! Turn! Turn!" is the reality of our planet, and this song will play on and on to help us cope with the reality of our existence. Thanks for sharing this great song and performance!
Considero incomum um grupo pegar um tema bíblico, musicá-lo com talento e brilho, compondo uma das mais belas melodias que já ouvi. Com certeza, estará sempre em nossa memória. Thanks, Byrds!
What I can say, with my group (well not my group, I just was a part of ) we played this and my back pages...a bizarre way to slip in this world...Eclesiastés (ahora en mi idioma) posee una gran sabiduría, y que bién por ellos que lo hicieron conocer para aquellos no leen la Biblia
I saw McGuinn perform this at the Leeds City Varieties last year, autumn 2011, living history, made me weep...

@Droomdon Seriously? Roger McGuinn is playing the Rickenbacker 12-string prominently front and center.

Funny how a song, taken from the Bible, made the Top 10. Perhaps there is hope yet?

I'm so glad this video is back on. I find it to be very inspirational.
The songwriters of the late 50's and throughout the 60's recognized the power of verse.
It wasn't about fame and fortune.
In fact, Seeger put this Biblical verse to music to spite the complaints from his music producers to write more "popular" music.
swedefinn101 1 year ago
The verses are from Ecclesiastes, Pete Seeger wrote the music, and organized the verses.

What year was this recorded? It must have been in the 90s, right since there are only 3 Byrds still alive in this video.
