I won't get into the scene emo shit but the stuff people referred to as "screamo" back then actually had a lot in common with BM. As for stuff from that era which encouraged cutting, maybe Usurp Synapse's Wrist, Meet Razor. Far cry from this stuff though but I can see some parallels with the way some post-hardcore and screamo bands write. It's just a completely different aesthetic.

@DarkenedEmptyWorld Have you tried listening to older emo bands such as Indian Summer, Saetia, Yaphet Kotto, Unwound etc? Most emo-bands sound really bland these days. If you go back to the roots maybe you will find something that you like.

And these teeny faggots you speak of are called "scene-kids". I don't really know why they have chosen to cut themselves. I have yet to hear an emo-song, old or new, where cutting your own flesh is encouraged. Judge music by its quality, not by its fans.
