It's not always about peoples egos dude. Guitars & Amps are great investments, assuming you buy at the right time in the market. Its just like the stock market, except for things you can actually use. I'm speaking from experience, to many guitars to count, dozens of amps, and hundreds of pedals. And I've made damn good money too. Not everyone is trying to make their dick look big.

I hope he at least knows enough to change the strings every month or so, keep the wood polished, keep all the parts clean so they don't rust, and clean the pots out so they don't get dusty. Man that's a lot of work, I think just 2 or 3 more is all I need :p
