Yeah, he first appeared in..I think the first kirby on gameboy at the game over screen when kirby is sleeping with his little cap and when you press continue the hand grabs the hat and it blows up in Kirby's face.

No not the first Kirby game for Gameboy. That was Hoshi No Kaabii (Kirby's Dreamland in English), the first Kirby game. The first time you saw the hand was in Kirby's Adventure, the second Kirby game, for the NES. I didn't know that was actually Master Hand though.

His real purpose is to copy abilities like Kirby but I don't know exactly how to do it.

easy if an enemy has a copy ability just use his normal attack ^^ ( at least that´s what I remember of the normal Kirby superstar ^^)
