Lookup wikipedia on crosswind landing you fools. You really do it like that. The last 50 feet(or maybe meters) above ground you cut power and if you approach straight then the aircraft may stall or rotate and be uncontrollable This is called crab or de-crab landing. Besides Singapore airlines I think hire white Caucasian pilots from UK, US or USSR. What does Asian have to do with it,
@MISTERHOWZAT no need to be racist, any pilot could be face with difficult crosswind and in fact to my knowledge, singapore airline is one of the safest airline in the world regardless of their race
hard to believe that he horizontal stablilizer can handle all the wind pressure. i used to inspect the installation of the stab and there just doesnt seem to be much holding it on there
WOW! What skill, what accuracy, what patience displayed by the pilot. Around 0:30 the pilot realized his a little off the runway, but he doesn't panic and try to force lateral movement, like other pilots, he very calmly makes a minor lateral push to the left and feels it out. The pilot is world class!
@its2realj Are you saying ALL Asians can't drive, but they ALL can fly? By the way, what makes you think the pilot is Asian? Just because it's Singapore Airlines does not mean the pilot is Singaporean or even Asian.
It sure looks like it - hey the wings are flexible, after all - on the ground the wings hang from the plane, in the air, the plane hangs from the wings - I remember a show on the making of the 747, and the engineers did a wing-bending test to see how far they could flex before they broke - it was a pretty sharp angle before the test wing exploded into fragments - so I guess wing flexion must be designed in
@haffnium72 It's not because of the video, the wings really are shaking. Don't worry those wings can flex a hell of a lot more than that and sill remain safe.
The future is in aviation history's 1st flight tests of Stealth, Tailless complete yaw-pitch-roll thrust vectoring flight control, with no aerodynamic control surfaces but maximized safety. It took place in Israel in 1987 and briefly reported on May 18, 1987 by Aviation Week. Video in a Facebook cite ["Benjamin Gal-Or"] shows how the 100-years-old, stall-spin-dangerous technology will be replaced with much safer and simpler designs in Civil and Military aviation. Travelers needs safer jets.
It's a wonder noone has come up with some sort of castor wheels for planes for landings like these. I mean those sort of side ways landings must put extreme pressure on the undercarriage on impact until it forces the plane to straighten up. You know 747 with shopping trolley wheels lol.

@Stargreened you're a fucking idiot. I tried to politely inform you that the wheels already perform in the manner that you suggested, and you reply with a smart ass remark. Do you think your smarter than engineers and they haven't yet thought of making wheels that act like a "shopping trolley"?? And physics still apply. The wheels don't align instantly, There is still friction and heating taking place for a thousandth of a second as the wheels align, hence smoke. Cheers.
@falconflyer34 I wasn't been a smart ass you fucking idiot. I'm not a aviation engineer and i was being polite with my reply
I honestly haven't seen 747 wheels turn on landing from the fixed position. How was my reply being smart ass? I was merely making a comment and you treat me like a cunt.
