I didn't know about people leaving the arena in the middle of the fight, that and Dana aproaching Soares during the fight are not a good signs for Anderson, at least for headlining events.Because the main problem IMO is the people leaving are probably new to the sport but they're the ones who fill the places, like the guy you mentioned who had the expensive seat. Perhaps his next fight should be at LHW (Rampage maybe?).Shogun looked great and seems now to be aiming at Forrest for a rematch.

Silva. come on. Ultimate Fighting = tap a guy and bug him. I don't think so, he should be in there to fight. He had the upper hand for 4 rounds and never hit the guy with force. Respectfully I disagree. Leites was shooting from the middle of nowhere. That only works on opponents with vastly inferior ground defense. When that didn't work he pretty much just gave up.

So what did Silva do? Pretty much the same thing that Roy Jones Jr did in his hey day: show the vast gulf in ability. Ultimately it's not the champion that has to prove he's the champion. Leites came in with a horrible game plan and never really adjusted. The least he could do was go down swinging.

I know thats true to say he as the champ has proven his ability in the past. But to get taken to the ground in the 1st. Do a good job defending and then never try to go near him after doesn't seem to show much confidence as the guy who has history on his side. I remember in the 3rd or 4th he did a great fake high kick but fired off a body kick that made Leites look retarded, but never put it to use.  I prefer dominant champions who don't take it easy on the weak. Just my preference.

I was shocked. I think it was a combination of a bad match and his lack of bloodlust against a felow Brazilian (what is not justified since he is a professional fighter). From the tatics point, I understand Silva would be willing to stand and strike at a distance and not close to the clinch (where he is devastating). It looks like the right choice against a BJJ BB. I blame Thales for not attempting more take downs. I think he got his will broken by those jabs and kicks.

Nice review. Regarding Anderson Silvas fight I think it's like this: If the UFC wants to get a bloody spectacle they need to give the man opponents that will go after him. Both Cote and Leites forfeited. If you get a titel shot you need to say to yourself "Im going to fuck that guy up and take his belt". You don't have the mentality of a champion if you keep butt scooting and not attack. If Silva gets opponents who doesn't do that they will get counterattacked and knocked the F out.

The Silva fight was hard to watch, on so many levels. It reminded me somewhat of the Starnes fight. Silva kicking knees, dancing around, Leites flopping around, etc. After the second round, nobody cared what happened. Good to see Rua on his way back to where he should be, near the top. Hey, if Silva wants to fight 205ers, put him against Rua in a 3 rounder!

Anderson and Shogun both looked amazing. Anderson unlike other fighters didn't blindly run into the guard of a fighter who kept trying to bait him. I didn't have a problem with Leites before the fight, now I can't stand him, how the fuck can his nickname be Braveheart? more like noheart.
