Intimacy is a fine album, believe me. But I personally think it was just to overly produced. Thats why I prefer live versions of bloc party's Intimacy songs, who agrees?

I think Russell actually controls this. Although you cannot see him editing the voice, there is a video of them playing this song at a festival from a 2008 I believe.

The voice, instead of going high, goes low, and Russell is the one who actually fixes it from his own pedalboard...
