@DAO0991 Heh well for the console there are gold glitches and such for that ... For comuter i think there's a file you can mess with but i'm not real sure. When in doubt, google.

@DAO0991 You can earn 30 gold in the dwarf noble origin. You get 3 by demanding the writter give you gold for helping him out and 25 for helping the noble who wants to allow the surface dwarfs to return. He gives you a note to 100G after the evens but you cant get the 100G because of what happens but if you sell it you get 25G the rest comes from selling everything in the origin before you talk to Tarim.

thats what I hate about bioware rpgs... that stupid ass pausing for everything. I mean I loved turn-based Final Fantasy era stuff as much as the next guy, but now it's just boring. I like it real-time now. Thank god Dragon Age 2 is much more real time friendly and isnt a dreadful bore of a combat system. Only thing that kept me playing this is the story.

@Aurelius27x Why would you hate the requirement of skill to play on harder difficulties. Normal requires next to no pausing to do well and anything above your playing for the tactical difficulty and not the aesthetic pleasure. The fact that I never need to pause in DA:2 is a turn off for me. The game was made more for aesthetics and not skill which is disappointing.

@LoboPal As of Patch 1.0.3 the game difficulty was lowered on the PC because pre 1.0.3 was stupidly hard on any difficulty. Even as an arcane warrior vanilla dragon age was pretty tough on nightmare but now i can solo it on pretty much any class.

@LoboPal It's not so hard when you have a decent healer, just use your stuns on the hard hitters and use you environment to block the mages and archers line of sight. Pulling small portions of eeach group encounter works well too.

Why would you waste all your poultices, poisons and bombs for this fight?

Speaking of which, with my dwarf rogue (only had Duelist specialisation) at level 17 I think it was, I soloed Piotin in the final Provings round on Nightmare without the use of any of those.

Just tried this and grab always ended the fight for me. It is very difficult to see grab coming and to stun him with dirty fighting before he gets you.

Tried over 10 times and eventually resorted to a lower difficulty.

Had almost the same stats as you have, so I guess its a matter of luck to not get grabbed (or constantly rammed) for about 3 minutes.

yeah grab really kills it....i guess since u let the ogre kill ur squadmates he must have used up his grab on them....the ogre also uses about 3 rams in the beginning

@divineatma Soloing means he's beating the game without the use of squadmates. No squadmates. Try and comprehend this concept as you have difficulty beating this game on normal...

@chasington89 i realise wat u mean....i was just saying that since he wanted 2 solo he let the ogre kill his squadmates which exhausted the ogres grab and ram moves... i am in no way taking away anything from triAcefan....his solo videos r gr8 and i have take ideas from him....and yes the game is difficult on normal but only on the initial playthroughs and then its easy even on nightmare

I think its a typo in the game. There's no such thing as "Chasing Robes," but there is something called "Chasind Robes," which you can find when in a quest when you're in the Wilds.

@ottohockey hes not a hack...you get a class ability at the beginning, then 2 more abilities in character creation, and then you get another ability when you finish the Joining (I think)....so he's not a hacker

What I don't get is why didn't you use Dirty Fighting at all? Even in Nightmare mode the Ogre is still affected by it. Sure its only for a sec or two but I guess you got the job done. Btw, were you going for a DEX or CUN build for your rogue?

I would try to use it to interrupt Grab, but he never used it.

I got enough DEX for Evasion first, after that it was all CUN.

Yeah good point. Most people would think to stun then backstab but its a bad idea during solo on nightmare. Just gotta hold on till you get coup de grace. So a cunning build then? I've tried both Cun & Dex build. I prefer Dex tbh. 15Str, Max Dex, 30Cun rest all base. I get more dps than Cun build (30Dex & Max Cun). Either way, you had good tactical actions against the Ogre. Mad props for you there. =]

@agyrophobe Have atleast 2 ranks in Poison Making and buy recipes and ingredients from the Quartermaster before the battle for Ostagar starts.

@triAceFan Ram stuk is more dangeroes, but Dirty Fighting is faster and unresistable. Try to backstab him - its more easy to control his ram and grab, plus avoid Massive Attak
