unless of course you watch the heavily condensed zeta movie in which case the asshimar does use a beam saber, albeit once and before dying within 5-10 seconds.
think the stand and its size DEFINITELY justify price. Plus from what I see, its transformation is superior to most (if not all) 1/144's (no removing pieces (at least permanently) and no parts-forming). And though it only has a beam rifle, I don't remember it ever using a saber (so could be in faithfulness to anime) and rifle is nicely detailed anyway. Probably the only gripe with kit is that final transformation isn't 100% accurate (as seen through the box art), but only if you're a bit purist.
Nice review, once again! "No other MS that's this weird"? The ridiculous mecha of GGundam aside, the Asshimar doesn't compare to the weirdness of the *shudder* ZAKRELLO! And don't get me started on the Juagg. Compared to those, the Asshimar's actually quite cool-looking.
The transformation's not only remarkable that it's on a HGUC, but I'm impressed that you don't even need to remove the hands! Also unique in that its MA mode is more stable than its MS mode, when it's usually the reverse.
@ckaicydek I should say that this is probably one of the weirdest MS's that has been kitted. Zock is pretty weird, too, but most aquatic suits tend to be, so it's nothing we don't already expect.
question.... why do reviewers in the u.s. feel the need to give the price of a kit in yen instead of dollars? i find that incredibly pretentious... your in the u.s. just give the price in dollars.
@kumasoul187 Because it gives us a better idea of what we should pay, plus if he gave it in dollars the price today would be different then 2 years ago, or two years in the future. I find your insolence to be pretentious
@kumasoul187 The exchange rate and prices varies once they're shipped to the US shops. And the reviewer may live in the US, but that doesn't mean that all his viewers are from the U.S. as well. So overall, it's easier for everybody to know the suggested retail price that's labeled on the box, rather than the converted price.
@kumasoul187 I find that it's actually more pretentious to give a model's USD price, because I'd be assuming that my audience lives in a USD zone, which is simply not the case. For the sake of factual accuracy, I always cite items' prices in the native currency of their original release region. Exchange rates also fluctuate wildly, so it's easy for an USD estimate to become wrong very quickly, whereas MSRP never changes, because it's printed on the box.
so...
Who pronounces Asshimar as Ass-himar?
MrBronx718 4 days ago
@MrBronx718 To be fair, I had a pretty hard time with that when I first found this thing. Titans hate simple pronunciations.

question, ive always wondered, by kit do you mean not pre-built and its a model? or is it pre-built but you can take it apart?

@idkwdya1 Kit means it comes in pieces.
