  • On the day of my judgment, when I stand before God, and He asks me why did I kill one of his true miracles, what am I gonna say? That it was my job? My job?

that question should be asked by many... the USA should as themselves this especially for allowing abortion

  • @espimark dude i agree that most of the people in the usa should ask that but the abortion line ruined it THEIR BODY THEIR CHOICE! sure its your righht not to believe in abortion but seriously its none of your business

  • Why...?

ON the DAY of my judgement when I stand before God and he'd asks of me 'Why.. did I.. did I kill one of his... [creations] What am I going to say? That it was "my job"?

That question should be asked by many -and not just Policemen- before harming and destroying God's beloved creations, lives and more on this Earth and beyond.

  • Fantastic film, I remember how truly powerful this was when I first watched it

  • The Green Mile is much better than The Dark Knight is

  • @92af Why are you even comparing the Dark Knight to this? They are 2 completely different films.

  • I Don't believe in anything supernatural in anyway but this scene nearly makes me cry every time I see it

  • If only more people were like John ... this is one of many scenes from this movie that makes me cry.... Stephen King is a genius & Tom Hanks & Michael Clarke Duncan are perfectly cast!

  • One of the most precious scenes I have ever seen in a movie. Just beautiful.

  • What an amazing scene.

  • I never cry at movies but this scene just hit me like a bullet I cried like a baby

  • God I feel like him at times one day there will e peace world peace and love for one an other one day keep the hope alive in u and give it to our children BIG LOVE TO U ALL ALWAYS IN ALL WAYS :-)) XX

  • This film had be crying like a baby girl lol beautiful film really really beautiful loved every second of it shit I'm almost crying now lol

  • Why do we write what we've just watched?

  • The movie is set in 1935, right? As things are now, it's as though he predicted the future, too. Whatever the case, John's message holds true.

  • Powerful words by two great actors.

  • one of the best scenes in movie history!

  • one person accidently clicked dislike because the tears we're fudgin up their vision

  • My favorite sad scene of all time!!!

  • This scene maked me cry

  • next line - "i never seen me a flicker show".

  • @SJGibbons1000 the second time i watched the movie and saw the "flicker show" in the begining (when paul is old) i understood why it was so sad ):

  • I cried so much during this movie.

  • I want to hug him so badly.

  • Thanks for posting that.

  • thank you for posting this..

  • Stephen King is really genius... he wrote real "Triumph" when i've read it i was really crying, and i swear that i didn't had any emotion before that book. and then the movie has released, and when i watched i've sad "that was awesome!".

Tom Hanks is really a big artist i knew him from "Forest Gump" but i didn't knew Michael Duncan before and when i've seen this movie i understood that he is a "GENIUS". P.S that was only my opinion :D

  • this is accurate, There is so much ugliness in the world that it makes me sick. If everyone gave 10 mins a day, just 10 mins helping someone other than themselves. Maybe just maybe this world would again be filled with love and warmth

  • @Temujin91 Agreed. All this hate and crap is like a disease on our planet, and one act of kindness can make all the difference. Sadly though, most dont know how to do that, they just continue the vicious cycle. :[

  • I'm both a Christian and a great lover for movies, and sometimes, the films that aren't directly about God or Faith sometimes have the most to say. This is one of those examples. Great movie and this scene says so much and aches me, just as much as anybody tired of all the ugliness in the world.

  • i always thought titanic is the only film that can make you cry, but i love the green mile. awesome movie

  • Lonely as a sparrow in the rain :(

  • I always thought if everyone in the world watched this there may not be anymore violence :(

  • remember seeing this movie in the 90's... tought it would be a shitty prison movie...i was 100% wrong

  • This is one my top ten favorite movies of all time and I've seen it probably over 50 times n I still cry every time :'(

  • Micheal Clarke Duncan is the best thing about this movie.

  • Manly tears have been shed.

  • Tom Hanks is much better than Marlon Brando was

  • "It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time."

  • Percy create an account and dislike this video

  • : (............

  • @Shawshankdude2005 yeah i know what you mean :) the hole film just touches your heart. i think it's because john coffee's a big man, but his soul don't fits to his body. sorry for that bad english, but i'm german :D

  • i always start crying when i see that film :( best movie ever !

  • @einfachbombe I'm a fully grown man with a strong sense of security. But the sheer power of several of the scenes in this movie (this scene and the execution in particular) just touch my heart in such a way that I can't help but feel like I'm one of the guards in that room. This without a doubt one of the greatest movies ever made.

  • This is the most difficult movie I've seen, but I love it so much. It really put Christ's actions into perspective for me.

  • Such a sad film about an innocent lonely man. thank god i got this film on dvd, otherwise i wouldent have seen it. tom hanks is the best actor

  • I feel exactly like him today.... Tired of crying and the pain I feel everyday....The world will only get worse and it frightens me......

  • This is why I love Tom Hanks.

  • This is the only movie that can make me cry :'( it's my favorite movie for its meaning, I love it...but it's so sad-John Coffey is the most virtuous, inspirational character ever.

  • This how God feels whn he looks at the world and wants to save us from our afflictions

  • @jewlzl i never get why god let us have freedom of choice when he should have just made the world a paradise, granted he loves mankind enough to care but having a choice s not always good as the world and its people demonstrate, thats my point

  • @blueleaf1717 with no choice, there is no good or evil. With no good or evil, there is no happiness or sadness.

We must progress and endure for just a while until the last

  • @blueleaf1717 he did make the world a paradise, the only true paradise is one where we have the right to choose it.

  • @immortalwombat10 and this is what we choose lol i do agree with but rapists, murderers, bullies, natural disasters.. seems like no paradise i've ever heard of!

  • I'm a guy, and I don't cry much, even when terrible things happen. But this fucking movie (and book) makes me bawl.

  • this is one of only three movies were i cried at the end

  • i couldnt descbribe how i felt til i saw this part of the movie.. but this explains me perfectly

  • This movie makes me cry every time. John Coffey truly was a miracle, you could just see it in him. He was a real gentle giant. The first time I saw this I had goose bumps, I couldn't handle it. Michael Clarke Duncan is one of the greatest actors of his time. This movie proved it.

  • "Mostly... I'm tired of people being ugly to each other."

Those words are so true, that I cry non-stop. I don't know if I'm too sensitive, but... it's just so true. People can be so horrible to other people. And I just don't understand why.

Why are people so... filled with hatred? Why do people need to case so much pain and suffering to each other? This could be such a beautiful world, if we just could treat each other with love and care...

  • This is sad almost made my eyes water :-( I know just how he feels.

  • for me the best filmmoment in history

  • why don't we have good acting like this NOW a days????

  • This was my favorite line in the whole movie. This entire video. I just wish most people talked that way.

  • @apaca187 i'm gonna say right here: jesus christ was a homosexual. also he was an indian retard and a slave. now...where the hell is that truck? or this time, will it be a lightning bolt?

  • "I'm tired, boss. Tired of bein' on the road, lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of not ever having me a buddy to be with, or tell me where we's coming from or going to, or why. Mostly I'm tired of people being ugly to each other. I'm tired of all the pain I feel and hear in the world everyday. There's too much of it. It's like pieces of glass in my head all the time."

  • @vladwpk This is getting gay.

  • @hasselett *yawn*

  • @vladwpk u mixed up we's coming from or going to, or why. part

  • "Mostly i'm tired of people being ugly to each other"

    what simpler message is there?

  • this movie is based on christ...john coffeys character is JESUS check the initials J.C decode this movie and u will find out what im saying...watch this movie from start to finish this guys pulling demons outta people and healing the sick

  • @apaca187 Apparently, you never read the novel.

  • @skankuser - do explain..and then explain why after they published the book mr king was hit by a truck....because he portrayed J.C as a mentally retarded african american??

  • @apaca187 okay first of all John Coffey was not retared, its the 1920's okay not many people were educated and secondly, shit happens, so what if he got hit by a truck? your telling me God injured a man because he spread the word of Jesus Christ through a movie thats moved the hearts of many? I don't think so.....but alright then

  • @Buddie9500 a white man ran him over becuase he was affended by mr. king portraying JC as a african american and use the right side of ur brain????

  • @skankuser he may nt of read the novel bt it kinda sounds tht way nt saying hes right or wrong

  • greatest words..

  • This is the only film i have ever watched where i cried. And i cried fucking hard at the end of this film.

  • @bloodmercs la vita e bella

  • @bloodmercs i know what you mean. :( there are some really sad parts in it.

  • whats the soundtrack to this???

  • @angusr93 The soundtrack is available on CD. By far one of the greatest, if not the greatest, soundtracks ever. Right up there with the soundtracks of Gladiator and The last Samurai. If I recall correctly, the music playing in this scene is titled "Danger of Hell" or something to that affect. I suggest you buy it immediately.

  • the kindness ya done

  • Probably the most poignant scene in the whole movie, bravo!

  • Oh my gosh, this part of the movie I so connect with it brings me to tears every time I watch it!

  • TOM HANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @newbornwandertoyota I love tom hanks... cast away, green line, saving private ryan and many others....master piece!

  • Hate, Im your hate

Im your hate when you want love

    Pay, Pay the price

    Pay for nothings fair

    Hey, Im your life

Im the one who took you there

    Hey, Im your life

    And I no longer care

  • metallica? wtf?

  • You would know the lyrics.

  • Sad But True! Goes well with the scene!

  • Paul Edgecomb: On the day of my judgment, when I stand before God, and He asks me why did I kill one of his true miracles, what am I gonna say? That is was my job? My job?

  • It was a kindness that yah did! Such wonderful lines!

  • @ahmadeddeeb

This line really hit home for me, in my heart. It hurt.

  • @ahmadeddeeb i love that line

  • @ahmadeddeeb yes that is a line from the clip we all just watched, do you have a point?

  • it was greatest word
