@amareno84 I would say thank you Demi for being Greek & making us proud... i only wish greece apreciated him more for this man's great voice...& i say this being Greek
wow i love Demis Roussos..whene i was 7 listen to his songs.. my dream and i want see him just for moment..no one like demis Roussos and never find man like him..and the best voice in the world..
This is awful, Demi's voice is destroyed, the lyrics terrible and the swaying djelaba's ridiculous. This is aping western culture at its worst. A cultural betrayal and a hollow puppet show. ..This is Quatar? So what is fatso doing there?
I hate to burst anyone's bubble...but this is Crap!!! Where is Demis going with this type of event. The Tenor was excellent but no idea who he is???...Anyone???
This is so sad that implication02 would say such a thing. This guy seems kind of immature and stupid. I bet he does not have a friend in the world. Is sad that someone who lives in England would say the most ignorant comment on earth.
Sempre grande Demis,Viva Demis!!! Ah Ah Ah...
Listen you mention that Arabs are buying or renting their place in the world you are completely wrong maybe you should do more research see how much Arab people in generel gave to humanity dont let the negative television control your little tiny brain
How positively dripping with insincerity... it makes me cringe to see a man reduce himself in this manner. When will the arabs learn that , no matter how much of your oil dollars you spend, you can't buy respect or friendship you're only renting it. You need to earn your place in the world and you won't do that with these cheesy domonstrations.

Wow, that was vary nice,, Thank you all, Thank you Mr. Roussos, Demis,, I am really happy that you have were a part of all that,, I wish you see you in Bahrain some day,, Thank you all,
well, i guess he just fucked up !! he just wasted a whole history in music by being so cheap singing for those oil-spoiled bastards. who is he by the way ??
don't understand their words but i always enjoy middle east /arabic music, its something about beat and rhythm in their songs and I love all kind of music.
Para los amigos Latinoamericanos, Demis, es international y si no lo saben el nacio in Egypto y vivio mucho in ella, habla el Arabi, yo soy Palestino lo escucho in Espanol, Frances,y el English, que tiene de malo si canta in Qatar? talvez next year in Mexico? gracias Demis.
I have traveled a lot the world and Middle East Countries since I was a kid. Qatar is a wonderful nation, a pearl in many senses in that part of the world.
A part this, why Roussos should not sing for free or big money for such a nation? Where is the problem?
Comment how he sings, how is his voice now instead of posting nonsense!

Not really, it's just because most people there liked his music in the 70s. If you grew up in the early 1990s, and then had a Pearl Jam reunion 10 years from now, you'd pay to see them, wouldn't you?
I agree. My guess is that his popularity in the Middle East is his natural dry timbre and impressive vocal strength and range. I often envision him singing from a mosque tower and I'm not even muslim or religious. His music with Vangelis and Aphrodite's child is close to my heart, and I grew up in a Pennsylvania suburb in the '80s; a far cry from Greece in the late 1960's. I think some of the more recent videos are a bit sentimental but how can you not celebrate this guy?
Haha, that is true. I'm Arab, but I'm not Muslim, and neither is my family. But I know what you mean. My parents really liked his songs way back then, hehe. His voice is alot like classical Arab music...most notably like Fairuz (Lebanon) or Um Kalthoom (Kuwait). Most Arabic music today is alot like pop.
@Hesam0000 I hope he give to you people the taste of the freedom I hope one day IRAN become a free country a country with men and women equal a free country I pray God everyday for that
@gucciboy58 I grew up in free Iran before 1979 & left Iran 4 years after the revolution. As much as you guys think you're free neither of you are, including US & canada.Try creating an anti-government militia or electing a different system of government than what you have & you'll see what I mean. Your only difference is not being under Islamic system which again has its own positives & negatives. Positives: No hijab, better legal process, secularism, negatives: crime, porn, prostitution, liquor++
I hope they did this because Qatar is a progressive nation in the Arab world, and not for money. I see in Qatar a glimpse of hope in an hopeless region.
If you don't like the song,, at least see the words illuminated behind him to understand his big picture!!! Demmis is trying to open the gap,, though we don't want to cause of 911, eventually we have to!!! or else!!!!!
What a nonsense @bzakaria! Do you think, Demis R. would give a concert for a hand full of quataris?!? Why should he? He is a free man.He is an orthodox guy!yes for sure he did it for money. And he did it great! I remember demis sleeping on the dining tables as fat as he was in the 80-s there was no bed strong enough for him. Pueh and your talking about big-dollars...Come on!
In this song, Demis turned himself into a pay phone...he has no feelings or attachement with Qatar. He sang this song ONLY because he got paid BIG dollars. I have no clue why rich Arab countries buy a foreign singer's time and talent to praise their accomplishment. A Qatari citizen would have done a better job, at least he'll be sincere.
Wonderful song !
