If you're like me and have forearms too big to reach through the corny keg lid opening, the components can also be placed in a paint-tray to clean. A carboy brush can also be used to scrub the bottom if you can't reach it.
@rhdenning Nope, no teflon tape needed. The gaskets on the posts, dip-tubes, and poppet valves seal very well unless they are old and brittle; in which case they can be replaced very inexpensively at your Local Home Brew Supply shop.
Hahaha...I stumbled across this video trying to figure out how much PBW to use to clean my keg (3 tblspns thanks!). I was listening to you saying wow! That guy's talking heavy Pittsburghese. Sure enough I look to see you are Ben's HomeBrew. I was there before. Good work and thanks for the help
Thanks for the great video! Relatively short compared to other ones I've seen on youtube, and covers all the important features of cleaning kegs, which I'm about to do for the first time!!
@rwade76 I believe they're actually mostly 7/8". The ball lock cornies I have have 7/8" posts, so the 7/8" wrench works great. I've found too that the ratchet type wrenches are nice but way too expensive--just get a cheap one. Once you get the tight post loosened up a bit, you can unscrew it by hand. No need to spend extra money when you don't have to. Cheers!

Thanks for the video. I don't have one just yet but I'm glad to know how to take it apart now.

Do you have to use Teflon tape on the threads for the posts, so no CO2 leaks out?

No, it didn't.

Thanks for the info. Though once every 5 kegs? Shouldn't you do this after every batch?

@rwade76 You can also use a 22mm 12 star wrench.
