  • Dogs are usually naturally loyal to their owner. When I was a child I had a German Shepard, he was un-trained. I was walking him when someone got into an argument with me about some issue. When he got in my face, the dog lunged at him and knocked him on his ass. I had to pull my dog off of him as he cut him up pretty bad. Had I not stopped him, the dog would have killed him.

  • we wanna listen to the dog voice ,,whats wrong with you

  • dogylover1 - You're so sure she's playing a game with the arm piece, put a protective arm piece on then wield a weapon menacingly in the other. Care to guess which arm the dog's gonna go for? Familydobes are responsible breeders and knowledgeable trainers. You'd do well to educate yourself more about this kind of training before commenting carelessly.

  • The dog has gotten to the point where he knows what a protective arm peice is, and that hes supose to bite it. Take that protective arm off and I dont see the man getting bit. This seems more like a game to him, He needs more training. Thus it could also be that he will bite anyone who puts their arm up as well. Just my opinion on the reactions the dog is giving. Plus his barking. But I cant hear commands because of the music too.

  • @dogylover1 Well had you been at that session you would have seen Ty Brown of communicanine get bit live on the chest for walking up too close too fast to the handler. This dog was trained to bite for real, and did perform his job for his owner. Naturally in training we use equipment to minimize the risk of injury to the trainers and the dogs, but don't think that means they are only equipment oriented.

  • Sehr Nice video so stellt man sich einen Dobermann Vor =) Gefällt mir

  • @Dobermannliebe Vielen Dank!

  • Y fuck up the audio??...i love dobies bark!

  • Great vid! For more info on working dobermans visit the Working Dobermann Forum at USADoberman . net

  • Dobermans and Rottweilers will defend there masters instinctively.

They don't need training. I own 6 Rotts and 2 Dobs.

One dog you don't want to get on the wrong side of is a female Rottweiler. Smaller than the Male, sure, but the female will quite literally fight to the death.

Absolutely fantastic with children though as long as you raise them properly from pup.

  • i want to get a doberman!!!!

  • great doberman

  • Carlosedm- Its my personal opinion/ experience that some breeds may be more likely to hurt a person. Again "personally" I keep my guard up around Akita s and Dalmatians

  • First 10 secs, if that lady was sitting like that at a county fair, and some kids come running around the corner of her vehicle like that chasing each other, that dog is gonna be all over them!

  • a trained doberman like this one knows the difference between kids playing and an attacker

  • dogs are remarkably intuitive when it comes to reading the intentions of people. you have to think, they live their entire lives amongst a pack of dogs, that speaks almost entirely with body language. it's not perfect, because sometimes people send confusing messages via body language, but it's pretty good. once you realize how little the barks and whines and growls actually mean, you'll understand how much information gets passed along with body language alone

  • thought exactly the same thing..thats y some breeds are just dangerous

  • dobermans are the best dogs its always amazing to watch them "work"

  • I think what they mean isthat if the dog is trained to protect he needs to do so of his own accord. EG. If someone who isnt a Friend Incapacitates the handler to the point of not being able to give a comand the dog needs to act of his own initive. I know thats how Id prefer My dobermann. If they are properly trained and the dog is about to make a mistake then the handler should be able to give a single command to cease before it gets out of hand."

  • "The dog needs to make decisions on his own" "he needs to bite without command " ...yeahh...I don't think so. See guard breeds already have this instinct, and to encourage that is just asking for a lawsuit. I think the focus of most guard training is to have the dog listen to your you, so that he will cease to attack when you decide, and to show that you are in control. What happens if a friend your dog never met playfully hits you with a newspaper and your dog suddenly bites? He better listen

  • el figurante es muy bueno, aunque aparente realizar un trabajo sencillo

  • Because at 5 years old your doberman is ready to be shot in the head or something? How about loving your doberman no matter how old it is?

  • haha i just want a puppy... lool

    i like puppies

  • @Reyneeru thats rude.. dont you love your your dog who loves you?

  • I would like to see a bit more of fight drive on this dog, though!

  • Honestly guys, check out the site and you'll all see that this people are serious about their Dobies and how they select-breed them. As far as attacking on their own without a command, well, come live in Brazil and you'll change your mind very, very quickly. What I want to say is that it all depends.

  • Dogs should not be trained to attack on their own without a command from the owner unless the owner is attacked first.

  • That's why dobies are excellent for this task. They have supreme situational awareness. I do not know of any other breed which has that trait so firmly ingrained in the breed. My dog is 100% reliable but when he thinks somebody can not be trusted... so do I. On top of that he will only stand between me and that other person and bark. I've never had anybody attack me, but I'm sure that if some poor soul would be that stupid he will take that person down within an instant.

  • thats exactly how i my dobe is i love her best dogs in the world!!!!

  • canis panthers are good dogs 2

  • Waste of time.. Dobies are lovees!

  • Problem is, if you train a dog to attack someone who is trying to harm you. If you set your dog on them in a public place (park, car park, street etc) That person can go to the police and say they were attacked, and the dog would be destroyed and you'd have a heifty fine. Stupid eh!

  • Yep but you would hopefully still be alive. I think it's horrible that dogs have to be punished for doing their jobs sometimes.

  • I agree. At least you're still ok.

  • @familydobes ya i know what you mean

  • Yes, but you can always take nearby people as eyewitnesses and/or stop the intruder and call the police first ;]

He'd have no arguments left then.

  • yeah there is that I suppose. The other problem is thanks to television Dobermans have a bad reputation of being savage killers. When infact they are complete sooks. (I have two)

So people are more likely to believe a doberman attacked the person. If it had been a Labrador it would be a different story.

  • Well, my neighbour has one dobe and it's very courageous, but it's very obedient as well.

I think only brave and fearless dogs make good and stable companions, because very few things cause them to act agressive.

I have seen few Labs doing a great protection/guard jobs. I think it's no good when the ad-popular breeds get spoiled by 'puppy milling'. Labs have very strong jaws too, they were used to retrieve big shoots -- no one supposes the lab can bite; once he does, there's one finger left ;]

  • So in conclusion. if people start showing their dobs' protective abilities in media, way of spotting canines may change since.

It sounds deceptively ideallistic, but there's nothing else we can do about it ;]

  • Many of the original breed were pretty snippy and would bite you when they were brought to heal from behind, but the breed today has been stablized in it's temporment.

  • better than being killed, robbed or harmed if you ask me..most people are smart enough to not mess with someone when they have a dog with them..others are just retards that probably deserve to get bit anyway...

  • @no1horselover I think you have every right to train your dog that way, and honestly people are going to go to the cops saying "Yeah I was trying to hurt him/her and their dog attacked me"

  • @rangeordie the point is they didnt tell the cops they were going to hurt someone and their dog bite them, the story will be "i was walking by him/her peacefully and all the sudden their dog just attack me." and then you will get sue for it

  • Great video

  • wat a wkd dog,and as 4 all the people comentin sayin the dog will atack any1 runnin at the owner,im sure like all p,p,d's the owner has a gud 1 word comand just incase the dog does mistake sum 1 inocent 4 an atacker and i liked ur truck 2 lol,

  • so wat happens if someone runs to the handler excitedly but only wants to have fun and not attack? do they go over that? or is it just the running up part to the owner part?

  • It's a bad idea to run to anyone excitedly who has a dog, it is also considered rude. How the dog would react depends on the individual dogs training. Most of my dogs would not let you run up to me regardless of your intentions. Approach all dogs in a calm manner for safety and courtesy

  • ahh i see. just askin.

  • dude?? kids dont know crap about approaching dogs... and im surly not gunna teach em all...send you do to a course.. get you buddy fully rounded. needs more structure... your asociating biting an attacker with playing.. it needs to be a job.. to protect.. not to bit to get rewarded

  • Its true that it would be rude and foolish to directly run at someone with a dog, but, at the begining of this clip, the man is running from around a "blind area" and is attacked. I hope this doesnt mean that a bi-product of having a dog trained for personal protection means that some rambunctious kid that unknowingly mimics what the man at the begining of this clip does, will get the same treatment from the dog. That would be a bit scary for me to own a dog that would make this type of decision

  • It's a fairytale-like example of behavior 'trojanfan525' had given. Who'd be stupid enough to charge at the protection dog? Many people walk me by in a curve when I'm walking out mine St. Bernard...

  • doberman is the best guard and working dog cause they are more easier to teach and to make command than other dogs,,,

  • thats what u want to teach him..haha did u see the baseball kids in the back. I wud hate to see the doby attack a kid running to third base.nah that wud be funny

  • super dobermann. the dog is crazy

  • Everyone trains differently but yes we sometimes hit the dog, it would not be effective if the dog let go when he was hit.

  • When they train a dobermann to attack do they actually hit them?

  • During IPO competitions your dog will get 2 (?) hits down the side. Aswell as the figurant waving the stick close to the dobermanns face (for the mental pressure of it). This is to see if the dog will hold a firm bite even if hit. This requires a selfcomfident dog with good nerves. Unfortunatly for the breed, alot of breeders breed on nervous and anxcious dogs, I spendt a year of looking before I found mine, be critical, use your time and get rewarded. sorry for the poor english aswell!

  • They do that so the dog reacts to a hostile situation in the right way so they dont run away and leave you alone to be attacked, they start to like it after a while and see it as a game. They have to have some bravado and courage...

  • What is this biting the arm nonsense?

Dobermans should be trained to go directly for the genitals!

  • how long do you think u can train a doberman to be a k9 dog i mean who would protect you on the streets and in your house for invaders

and how much would it cost 500 dollar total?

    1000 dollar 2000 dollars?

also cutting the tail when they are young is free right? or not

im getting one just like yours

  • That is correct, training this dog for that one specific person turned out to be my greatest mistake, the dog was very social and a wonderful companion in the home, until someone came, and it didn't matter who. Your own mother could be at the door, and GRaf was not going to let her in. The worst part about the whole situation is the woman who the dog was being trained for turned out to be a total fraud! She wasn't a victim at all, she was trying to kidnap my daighter! How stupid was that?

  • After she had seen the dog and what it could and would do? She had already spent 9 years in prison for kidnapping and somehow she thought she would use the dog to get close to my little girl... It took over a year to untrain graf and train him to be an attack on command only dog later on, he was not suitable for any home until he had been re-trained. Moral of the story? Background checks and payment before the training begins :)

  • Again you are missing the point of what the dog was trained for and he should always be on leash. He was trained for with fear when ma rape victim who could not give him an attack command as she was paralysed with fear when men approached. The point of this dog's training was that no men ever get inside her personal space, and if they are percieved as threatning, they are going to get bit. The dog did his job even if the actors weren't to that part of the script.

  • Ok, Fair enough, IF thats what this dog was trained for it has been succesful. The problem with this is that this dog then has one primary use only, and is not a family dog, and may cause harm to others... And I dont mean to be rude or disrespectful, just pointing out some factors.

  • Yes but surely the dog has failed here, because the dog was going for the man before the man had even acted intimaditing?

  • Surely you are not watching closely as the decoy approaches with a clenched jaw, square shoulders and direct eye contact with the dog as well as adrenaline in his system knowing what is coming. The dog reads the whole picture and does not settle down right away because of all the conflicting signals he is perceiving as a threat.

  • But the point is she dosn't, pause to read the pictures, she is trying to bite at the man, if she wasnt on the lead the man would have been bitten pre-maturely. And, In nottingham theres a man with a clenched fist sqaure shoulders looking for a fight round every corner!

  • what size crops are those?

  • a long show crop

  • Its just like your own personal bodygaurd... i want one

  • watch some vids about schutzhund or protection, you'll see dogs licking or greeting men they've just bit.

  • i have a question if my doberman was trained like that will he also attack my family or friends who approach me to shake my hand or come in close contact with him or me?

  • No. If you are worried about that, there is a very simple solution. When training a dog to guard, it is possible to train them almost exclusively to work on command. They must be taught to read situations where no command is given, and if no training in this vein is issued, it will minimize the chances of the dog acting on their own. My ex-girlfriend's Dobermans were trained like that, and we could wrestle around, play basketball, etc. right in front of them with no problem.

  • the only problem wih doberman is that once they do get defensive/aggressive they are hard to stop as thats when the pincer in them shines and they GO OFF!!! i had one up untill it fucked a dude up bad, dickhead electrician just walked straight though our gate and tried to shake my mums hand whilst she had her back turned. good dog in all other regards.

  • Dobermans are very effective by their perfect feeling of aggression. They really can understand when the have to act.

  • wow ur dog is very protective wat a lovely dog
