  • "[the characteristics of rite of spring] makes it as exhilarating and liberating as music can be"

  • Da gracia pensar que el wiro se usa tanto en la cumbia como en esta pieza...

  • I thought I had a good understanding of the work, then I saw all the ink on the score.

  • I love Michael Thomas! He really brings the music alive. Much better than a stuffy old guy just waving a stick on cue.

  • SEXY ! ;)

  • Mi god...i´m in love at 4:31....the horn player is supersexy

  • Bravo!

  • am i the only one that find the dance funny? Lol.

  • What an EXCELLENT documentary! A real acheivement!

  • David Herbert = awesome. btw, he makes really amazing carbon fiber timpani mallets...in case anyone cares.

  • best classical music documentary ever!

    Warren

    Sioux City

  • Love the Horns from 1:08!

  • I don't listen to this as "music". It's something completely different.

  • I love this documentary and hope someone would post something similar regarding Alban Berg's Lulu!

I love The Rite of Spring!!!

  • Or even Wozzeck.

  • Gracias a Droidean, porque estos videos son sumamente didacticos y permiten ,conocer, analizar, entender y explicarse mas didacticamentecual ha sido la generacion de obras musicales que son hitos en la historia de la musica.

  • Thank you for posting this!! This is my favorite piece of music EVER, and it's wonderful to see people talk about it who love it as much as I do!

  • Thanks man. Good upload.

  • thats the highest bass drum iv'e ever heard

  • That`s not the bass drum, that`s the timpani, and because they play in the same time, it seams like it`s bass drum.

  • thank you so much! this has been so much fun to watch!

  • thank you so much for putting this up!!! i really wanted to buy the series to support the orchestra and everything, but i'm quite broke and also my dvd player got busted... :/

    i really appreciate this :)

  • haha ok. the next one i buy will be the aaron copland one... or maybe the beethoven one idk. they're pretty expensive.

  • I've gotten two of them and they're only about $20.00 if I remember. Could you post the complete performance of the Rite? I have the DVD but others need to see this. Also, if I had to choose, Beethoven.

  • I would go with Copland.

  • thank you thank you thank you thank you! I remember watching this program on PBS years ago and I remember searching all over the net for clips.

Michael Tilson Thomas is really quite intelligent in music analysis, I love how he disects the piece for us non musical/ballet people.

If you have any other episodes of keeping score, would you please post them, pretty please?
