@chome41 I'd honestly switch to a more mainstream version of Linux/Ubuntu. I know what it's liked to be using an operating system that only 10 people know exists, and it's really much easier to just switch to the more mainstream. If it's not possible, try searching the RMD forums.
Pls tell me how you record the sound with my computer i get the anoying mouse-click and space noise whenever i record plus if i talk while recording my voice sounds like i used a phaser pls help!
Nice video... I have problems with recordmydesktop, but I think it's because of my computer. I'm running a 4yr old laptop with an amd turion processor. Only 2 out of 5 recordings ever encodes fully. The rest have audio or video problems. I've heard you can do screen recordings in vlc, so i might just play with that.
@99sisco99 Cool, glad it helped. For the zooming, it's a default feature of Compiz Fusion. I forget the name of it, but to use it... you have to be running Compiz. Then hold Super and scroll your mouse wheel (super being the windows key).
I'm trying to screencap some tutorials for linux, and I'm having a few issues with recordMyDesktop, and google brought me here.
When I upload the .ogv file directly to youtube and it's finished processing, I simply see boxes randomly on the video, but no actual video. As if it were just pixels being put places, instead of recording my desktop. I've played the video locally and it works perfectly.
@BillyEwing Ya, something happened with 10.04 that caused it to not work anymore. I ended up having to convert it from .ogv to something else, then upload it. It's been a while since I have messed with it. I might have done a video on it, but can't rememeber
Nice video dude, however mine doesn't record the sound from the desktop :( Im not using a microphone or anything just say I wanted to record and then open a youtube video or something it doesn't record the sound. Also I don't know what to type into that box where you have hw:1,0
@J0RDSKI i used Pulse Mixer and set the recording device to use the internal sounds. and you can then switch back to mic (if you get one) and desktop sounds whenever you want
Then at the gtk-recordmydesktop window, i typed "pulse" where he put "hw:1,0"
Does anyone know if there is a way to download this for non-Ubuntu users? I use Linux Pardus which is KDE.

How do you zoom in and out?
sccerstr09 1 year ago
@sccerstr09 it's a feature of compiz - hold the super key, and scroll the wheel on the mouse.
PCAddictsLive 1 year ago
Great, it gives a start-up point to newbees like me ;)
I just wonder, HOW do YOU do this zooming??
Are there predefined keys or do you do that with mouse-wheel??

Hey PCAddictsLive,

Do you happen to have any ideas?
