  • One of my absolute favorites!!!!! Love this Yes Call Him Up and tell him what you want!!!!!!!!!!

  • we sung this song at my Pastor's 19th Anniversary and we rock this song

  • I remember directing our Chicago Choir singing this song during the 80's. It sounds even better now. For those of us who really have relationship, Call Him UP!

  • The drum beat and the piano riffs are straight up disco. That's why you're all dancing.

  • @aoscruggs49 No, that's not why we dance. Not at all.

  • @226amethyst There's nothing wrong with dancing to a good beat. You can be a Christian and party. My point was: this is a disco song. There lyrics may be inspirational, but the music is disco.

  • @aoscruggs49 No, there is nothing wrong with dancing. My point was that the "beat" has nothing to do with why I praise dance. I don't even have to have music. All I have to do is think of the goodness of Jesus, and all that He's done for me.

  • @226amethyst

There's nothing wrong with dancing. You can be a Christian and party. My point is this: musically, this song is disco. And there's nothing wrong with it being disco.

    BTW: I'm a gospel musician.

  • Excellent! Thanks for the blessing!

  • Mr.Grundy excellent.I miss this type of Gospel, Can you please get back to work.lol.Iam almost 35, I misss the old gospel. The kind where the ushers would dance down the aile at offering time!!!

  • You know...the church I sometimes fellowship at they still do......amen.

  • looove,,, yes God iS SOOOO AWESOME!

  • Thank you Mr. Grundy. 30 years ago I was one of a few white girls in the gospel choir at UCSD. I was not a Christian. There was so much joy in the room when the choir got together, I knew my life was changed. Praise Jesus for working a miracle.

  • I heard this song today in a little country church and they rocked it it was not a dry eye in the and ther was no one in there sit not even the little kids

  • Wow. I can only imagine how powerful the service was that day. Where two or three are gathered together, God is in the midst. Praise God for showing up whenever and wherever He wants to.

  • well go head and praise him yall. because i cant stop praising. i love this.

  • lets call him up yall.

  • hey man, you are so blessed and you have been trusted by the Lord to write this powerful song for Him.keep it up. God bless.

  • Hey Yall.. this is Rickey Grundy...thanks so much for your comments. I wrote this song in 1979 and we released it on the True Victory LP in 1980. I wrote many of the hits for PCC & Keith.. Back then peeps used to read credits... lol... God is Good...This has blessed people all over the world now for more than 3 decades. Love you all. Keith is here in Los Angeles and doing just fine.

  • Hey Mr. Rickey Grundy! Always admired your gift in music, you are a true genius! I have a song which seems to have almost the same impact as "Call Him Up" when and where ever we sing it, I would like to do something with it but don't know where to start. Any advice for a late blooming song writer.

  • Hello Mr. Grundy,

I know that you wrote this song, and may God always get the glory from your life from writing such a masterful piece. When I was in high school (mid nineties), I used to listen to this tape (True Victory) every single day and night. I would be in the living room crying and praising God while everyone else was asleep...listening to ths song. Isn't it amazing that when God creates something, it stands - regardless of changes, fads, or trends...it remains.

  • This song has brought me thru many situations. i love it, and will continue to call him up in JESUS NAME.

  • We worked that song OUT back in the DAY!!!

  • I can't finish listening to one song for finding anotha "back-in-tha-day" song I want to hear. there just ain't enuff hours in tha day. I remember our church choir singing almost everyone of these songs!

  • can't stop listening to this song.

  • My choir at church love to sing this soong! AND MY CHOIR IN HS liked it ... WE SAAANG DAT SONG!!!

  • We hosted a workshop in Oklahoma with Keith as the clinician, albeit a late one. (He claims he missed his plane.) We had a blast, and after dinner and pictures at my house with my nephew and my son, we had a blowout musical!! We still Can't Stop Praising His Name!

  • whatever happen to keith pringle

  • Always loved this song! And it really is sad that choirs have lost the art of choir singing. Choirs today are so busy trying to sound like praise and worship teams. Where are the simple songs, with verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-run!?

This sounds like it is the original. I don't hear a remix. Anyway, thanks for posting this!!

  • Jesus, Hallelujah! Jesus (_________) what do the tenors say at that point . We always said "Praise His Holy Name",

    Please correct me.

  • praise His holy name is correct! ;)

  • Thanks.

  • @HotRadioDJ I know I'm a year late but it's only "Praise His Name"

  • @higgybaby1 PRAISE HE'S HOLY NAME

  • @higgybaby1 He said "Praise His Holy Name" as well but I've people say "Praise His Name", which sounds like what they are saying. I don't hear "Holy" in the passage.
