Jesus, Hallejah!! Just those words can help you get through/handle anything. I know. I've called on Him and He came right then and there and took me through. Just believe.
I grew up on this song when i was little my mother them used to sing this and ive never stopped listening to it and praise God im saved today sanctified holy ghost filled and fire baptized R.I.P. Missionary Darlene Haynes Benjamin My Loving Mother...09-05-58 - 06-14-08..49 loving years of life and seving the Lord...
Minister Pringle, I really enjoyed you at Unity in the Community in Fayetteville NC yesterday!!! Your CDs are a true blessing. I am really enjoying listening to them. You have a powerful testimony and continue to do what God has called you to do...May God continue to Bless and keep you!!!!
I LOVE THIS SONG I REMEMBER THIS SONG WHEN I WAS CHILD & IM 45 NOW & I ALL WAYS I LOVED THIS SONG!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD !!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!!!!!!!
...I WISH WE STILL HAD CHURCH WITH THESE OLD SONGS AND HYMNS LIKE THIS....I REMEMBER WHEN WE SANGTHIS BACK IN THE 80"S, BY THE TIME WE FINISHED TE CHOIR STAND WOULD BE EMPTY, PASTOR COULDN'T PREACH CAUSE HALF THE CHURCH WAS STILL SHOUTING, THE USHERS WERE OUT NUMBERED AND HALF OF THEM WERE PASING THE FLOOR FULL TOO!
Now this song is soooo long but let me tell u how i love it! One day I was listening to it at the house a bust out shouting! Like I almost tore my house up! That day I really couldn't stop praisin His name!
WOW !!....this is AWESOME ! i grew up on Keith Pringle...momma made me go 2 church, every Sunday..I used ot complain..but it made me a better man, i have no doubt .
lord can someone tell me where i can find the words to this song this was our anniversary song at church back at Harper springs babtist church in sylacauga al
I remember directing our Chicago Choir singing this song during the 80's. It sounds even better now. For those of us who really have relationship, Call Him UP!
@226amethyst There's nothing wrong with dancing to a good beat. You can be a Christian and party. My point was: this is a disco song. There lyrics may be inspirational, but the music is disco.
@aoscruggs49 No, there is nothing wrong with dancing. My point was that the "beat" has nothing to do with why I praise dance. I don't even have to have music. All I have to do is think of the goodness of Jesus, and all that He's done for me.
There's nothing wrong with dancing. You can be a Christian and party. My point is this: musically, this song is disco. And there's nothing wrong with it being disco.
Mr.Grundy excellent.I miss this type of Gospel, Can you please get back to work.lol.Iam almost 35, I misss the old gospel. The kind where the ushers would dance down the aile at offering time!!!
Thank you Mr. Grundy. 30 years ago I was one of a few white girls in the gospel choir at UCSD. I was not a Christian. There was so much joy in the room when the choir got together, I knew my life was changed. Praise Jesus for working a miracle.
I heard this song today in a little country church and they rocked it it was not a dry eye in the and ther was no one in there sit not even the little kids
Wow. I can only imagine how powerful the service was that day. Where two or three are gathered together, God is in the midst. Praise God for showing up whenever and wherever He wants to.
Hey Yall.. this is Rickey Grundy...thanks so much for your comments. I wrote this song in 1979 and we released it on the True Victory LP in 1980. I wrote many of the hits for PCC & Keith.. Back then peeps used to read credits... lol... God is Good...This has blessed people all over the world now for more than 3 decades. Love you all. Keith is here in Los Angeles and doing just fine.
Hey Mr. Rickey Grundy! Always admired your gift in music, you are a true genius! I have a song which seems to have almost the same impact as "Call Him Up" when and where ever we sing it, I would like to do something with it but don't know where to start. Any advice for a late blooming song writer.
I know that you wrote this song, and may God always get the glory from your life from writing such a masterful piece. When I was in high school (mid nineties), I used to listen to this tape (True Victory) every single day and night. I would be in the living room crying and praising God while everyone else was asleep...listening to ths song. Isn't it amazing that when God creates something, it stands - regardless of changes, fads, or trends...it remains.
I can't finish listening to one song for finding anotha "back-in-tha-day" song I want to hear. there just ain't enuff hours in tha day. I remember our church choir singing almost everyone of these songs!
We hosted a workshop in Oklahoma with Keith as the clinician, albeit a late one. (He claims he missed his plane.) We had a blast, and after dinner and pictures at my house with my nephew and my son, we had a blowout musical!! We still Can't Stop Praising His Name!
Always loved this song! And it really is sad that choirs have lost the art of choir singing. Choirs today are so busy trying to sound like praise and worship teams. Where are the simple songs, with verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-run!?
This sounds like it is the original. I don't hear a remix. Anyway, thanks for posting this!!
@higgybaby1 He said "Praise His Holy Name" as well but I've people say "Praise His Name", which sounds like what they are saying. I don't hear "Holy" in the passage.
Love it! I have been looking for this song for years. I have wanted to use it at a dance ministry concert but could not find this version. At least now I know that it does exist.
We used to sing this in our church. Amen!!! Uncle Lester made sure we knew the words. Praise His Name!!

The drum beat and the piano riffs are straight up disco. That's why you're all dancing.
