@raunchy1313 From what I heard Fox was originally supposed to get with Mercy, not Swan, but Thomas G Waites (Fox) and Deborah Van Valkenburgh (Mercy) had no chemistry so they switched her love interest to Swan. Waites got all funny about it and clashed with Walter Hill, the director, so they killed him off early and didn't credit him because he didn't finish the movie. Apparently Walter Hill always felt bad about that, so maybe that's why Waites was asked back to do the video game?

i agree that specific directors and producers can only recreate; but they can remake this one in newyork city. a more up to date one and make it look better. besides, MANY movies are made in new newyork that people feel and capture. this one is not really that hard to recreate. a bunch of gangs, different colors, chases down streets and parks, fight scenes, not really hard to remake.

When it first hit the net that a "remake" involving a west coast version of the film in which Travolta would be the new "Cyrus", the backlash was SO massive, they had to rethink and rewrite the script, and the movie was already shooting. It then came out a few months later that Beck and one of the other originals( probably Remar ) had signed on to the project, and the storyline had changed. No new word on the project as of late. IMO, this is just as bad as the new 'Darko' flick. Leave great be.
