i'd really love to know how you could let this game work... I'm not an expert in hardware, mechanic or something so if you could give me some details about playing this game (websites where i can buy the hardware maybe and a guide how to let it work), explained maybe in an easy way, you would complete my years of searches that didn't help me at all... T H A N K YOU SO SO SO MUCH!
i wish there was a model 3 emulator so i could play this in all it's glory, with sound and perfect video emulation; but i guess playing it on MAME with no sound will have to do.
why do some machines have almost no music like this video does, but other machines have better music that sounds like jurassicparkitalia's videos of this game? Makes no sense.
Sadly only a few units have been made so there is little chance we get one of these units. Moreover it has to come with the DSB2 as the roms differs for everygame.
Let's just hope this board works without the extra room hardware :)
You seem to have knowledge about Sega stuff. Are you a tech? collector?
actually your rom is the same game as jurassicparkitalia's vids of this game, so it's a mystery to me why some machines actually have music and others have almost no music
Dunno then, there is a bit of music at certain moments/cutscenes in the game but nothing more. Maybe you hear some other music coming from another machine. You can't distinguish clearly the game sound in the others videos.
i heard that lost world cabinets use two separate sound channels, and it all depends on what channels are hooked up as to what you hear. ShinRadiac, a youtube user, has videos of this game running in his Sega Super GT cabinet and with better music.
This code only works for some of the games. For example on scud race export you can change the region within the test menu. For some games like D2 you have to enter the code.
I used that code on my D2 but sadly forgot about it, it had to do with pressing test and service in a particular order but can't remember how...
Well not really. In the actual game I think the speed shown in the video is like 5/10. On the hardest mode the raptors take less than 1 second to hit you :)
they are moving faster than i am used to seeing in other videos of gameplay of this game. The difficulty gave must have been increased greatly in the test menu. Also, it looks like you are displaying this game on a computer screen. Are you? If so, how did you do it
What board are you referring to? video converter? As you may know, this game needs either type 1 or type 2 IR gun hardware.
Type 2 is what it was design for (and sold with). But for some reason type 1 hardware compatibility has been left in the game. Type 1 hardware uses a flash type method,so I don't know if it will work. Type 2 uses IR pods to read the gun values, this should work on the computer screen (as long as you have enough pods and the correct I/O gun board).
I have a spare type 1 gun IO here, only part I still got. I'll ask a friend of mine if he has a type 1 gun he can lend me. This way I could try the type 1 method. Sadly I don't have a type 2 cabinet anymore.

Well, it seems jurassicparkitalia's videos have been taken in an arcade, so maybe the music heard comes from another game.
This said, I know some special version of this game uses the Digital Sound Board rev 2.
This extended sound board provides full mpeg music to the games. It has been used in Sega Rally 2 and Daytona 2 (between others).

are you talking about The Lost World: Special Edition?
gutchman84 3 years ago
Indeed, this version uses the DSB2.
Sadly only a few units have been made so there is little chance we get one of these units. Moreover it has to come with the DSB2 as the roms differs for everygame.

no that is not the case. check this Ir0nIsland's video of the game it and tell me what you think:

check out ShinRadiac's videos of this game, he has the board without the game as well, the music will sound different than on this board

I heard their is a secret way to change the country in test mode on sega model 3 games. Do you know this code?

Game is running off the legit board, no piracy supported here :)

Indeed, I used to play it in my cabinet with the hardest settings. The fear/pressure are a lot more present and the game is much more fun.
I used a 15/24khz to 31khz convertor.
Nothing like the actual 24khz 29" monitor but still, cool way to display it on a regular pc monitor!
cougarvsd 3 years ago
That's cool. But why don't I see the "Winners Don't Use Drugs" and "Suitable for all ages" screens. This is the U.S. Version, right?
gutchman84 3 years ago
As far as I know, it is the Export version.
cougarvsd 3 years ago
can you play this on your pc monitor with that board inside it?
gutchman84 3 years ago

do you think you could make a video of some gameplay on the computer screen?

This has been flagged as spam show

I'm curious cougarvsd, is Type 2 IR gun hardware the kind that lets you reload the gun by pointing the gun offscreen without shooting?
gutchman84 2 years ago
Do you the lost world special has a different gameplay
jakekoocher 2 years ago
i know that. i would love to see videos of that game as well
gutchman84 2 years ago
why don't you have the lost world cabinet anymore?
gutchman84 3 years ago
I never had the original cab. I made a naomi convert kit. It was used on a sega naomi cabinet with trisync monitor.
cougarvsd 3 years ago
so did you have any guns attached to this naomi cabinet when this game was in it?
gutchman84 3 years ago
but you said you never had the original cabinet

I own one of these machine just a little one not deluxe and youre right that board is noisy.
