I don't think that Cardenas could be a problem in a group... and I'm sure that neither Joey Baron nor Paul Motian would hesitate to choose another guitarist to support their music. Plus this solo is obviously a great solo, maybe not the one a guitarist might expect... which makes it even more interesting...
Well, I just said that this doesn't show them at their best; this isn't what they normally do. They can certainly play anything and everything they want, and I never insinuated they couldn't or shouldn't.

yeah, it's so boring. i saw that group in 2001 and now it's the same problem as back then: the guitars suck. the great parts are those when joey and tony play without the guitars.

Saw the dude at north sea jazz, playing filmworks, man i had a big grin on my face the whole concert.
then i saw him with john zorn's cobra, which was not really music but a game, too bad i didn't like it ..
Seeing Naked City again would be sickkkk : |

Yeah Cardenas! Great sence of rhythm and silence.

I prefer Joey Baron playing with John Zorn in Naked City.

Hey Adama and Flippo,
What the hell are YOU listening to? Cardenas is amazing (though this isn't his best, obviously), and Brad is playing some killer lines.
Restaurant Jazz? Give me a break! I'd love to eat there!

Brad Shepik is a great guitarist, but this doesn't really display his abilities.

you obviously don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Man, listen to him play with the Tiny Bell Trio, or some of his solo records. This is really, really straight-ahead sounding for Brad and Joey both.

just because they're capable of so much more doesn't mean they can't enjoy playing some straight ahead jazz... what's that saying?
"don't try to play everything you know all the time"...?
