I have mixed feelings about the ending. The first time I heard it (just now), I thought it was making the song and GM sound a bit twisted and obsessed. But hearing it again, I do like it since it gives you a raw and very honest view of how he felt upon his lover's betrayal. Though, I do think including the last few verses does overdo it a tad; I can see why the song gets cut down for the radio every year.
