I couldn't remember where did I hear this. This is a fragment of echoes of war!!! Quite good music, actually protoss music in SC2 is dissapointing when compared with this.
Long ago, a group of protoss became uncontent with the Khala. These people became known as the Dark Templar. The Khalai chose a powerful warrior, Adun, to lead the fight against them. Unlike his subordinates, Adun believed these people did not deserve distruction for their beliefs, and instead of destroying them, placed them on an ancient ship and sent them towards shakuras. It is for this reason that Adun is honored by both the Dark Templar and the Khalai.
@CommentariesRus Because Blizzard nerfed the hell out of it. Most of any unit that can shoot up can kill a mothership...I remember when a mothership made players shit their pants in fear.
@butthead6886 not auir. this part is all about raynor's raiders next is kerrigans fate game the zerg fate and the last PROTOSS! it's about sustaining the protoss tribes
You know i had this idea, I'm not sure how it makes sense but idk. The voice in the level thats the end of the universe. I think its Tassadar. It looks simular idk something tells me its him. I dont know why he would be corrupted like that. Mabe it has something to do with the xel'naga artifact being activated.
Adun was known as one of the greatest warriors and strategists. He saved the early community of the dark templar from being slaughtered by the conclave by tapping into the energies of the void and of the conclave. But as a result of using such powers he had dispersed as energy. He is revered by both the dark templar as well as the light templar, but whereas the dark templar revere him for rescuing them, the conclave do so for protecting them from the dark templar.
@shadowkill546 that may be possible. but one should remember that Adun "died" almost a millenia before the brood war. (Zeratul and the matriarch lived to see him. if you already don't know that.) if Adun WAS to return then he could already have done it at the time when Aiur fell.
The dark templar of the time believed that he did not die but rather went to a different plane of existence. We could assume that if he was to return he could have done it anytime, but that's assuming that he can return whenever he wanted. The dark templar believe that there are certain signs that indicate his return, perhaps some conditions have to be met first that allow him to return. Besides that who knows, its all on starcraft wiki
@shadowkill546 lol. don't say it like that. consider us like scholars of some sort. :P anyway, Adun joined the Khala and that we all know. but Protoss only join the Khala when they die (the blinding flash of light that indicate death of a zealot or protoss in general.) Also i do not think that Tassadar died and returned from death. That's my speculation anyway. Because when protoss die, they join the Khala and exist as thoughts. that's why they have preservers.
Ah yes, indeed we are scholars! That is a good point you make and I agree. Tassadar appears in SC2 and communicates with Zeratul, I don't know how though or I can't remember. I think he said something about leaving some of his consciousness behind. As for Adun, he could have perished and joined the Khala. That is the mainstream opinion among the Conclave Protoss. But among the Dark Templar, they believe he vanished to a higher plane of existence because he used both types of energy
@shadowkill546 i read the wiki again and it said that tassadar did not know how he ended up conjoined with the overmind. but it is clear that tassadar did not die. however, Adun on the other hand did die. He burned out like a star from using dark and light templar energies while trying to cover for the dark templar's escape. the only difference was that he was not sensed within the Khala. so it would be unlikely that Adun would return. because we have no idea on where his spirit went.
@Undeazgul fenix died in the stupidest ways ever. first , his blade runs out of energy, (which sould be impossible becuz psi blade are powered by the khala) second, kerrigan kills him.
This track should be played in the StarCraft II Protoss single and multiplay. Whenever I play SCII (obviously with Protoss) I put the original SC1 musics and this playing to the background.
@Luis11717 There is ALOT of history behind Tassadar. Summed up to the more important parts:
Tassadar was a protoss high templar and executor in charge of the expeditionary force which made first contact with the zerg and the terran. He later fought in The Battle for Koprulu, which the protoss conclave did not see fit and put him on trial for his actions. With fancy politicians words n knowlede he bypased that obstacle and later on he sacrificed himself to abolish the zerg overmind; hero. xD
You know, protoss talks like they were almost from medival/Shakespeare's times, but their techs were... beyond ours by billions of times. Ironically, while we look up to them with awe, they think we are a complicated race (even we have wars among ourselves, we do show the 'true' essence of humanity like forgiving, learning from mistakes etc)
@pnBruTuS The third protoss mini-campaign mission. At the end of it, Zeratul gets to the Overmind and Tassadar's spirit gives him a vision in a vision of a vision in a vision in a AHHHHHH.
@angelo14leo No, he means pylo. pylo was a pylon from a game casted by huskystarcraft. husky humanized him and gave him a name. after 5 minutes he died. but there are many pylo tribute videos.
@fireemblemaddict128 this song is a mix of the protoss victory screen music, the music you hear when getting your missions as the executor and the part where tassadar kills the overmind.
God I love the Protoss. Such a fucking awesome race... Could not be who they are now without the help of Savassan and Temlaa. You're cool if you know who they are without having to wiki them.
@Xentozz It's basically a catch-all phrase that means "Generic Protoss Saying" I think it's some sort of greeting, but they use it all the time for pretty much everything.
@tosswartul Well think about it. The Khalai warriors prefer open combat and rely on their stamina and brute strength (zealots) and their vast psi powers (high templar). While Dark Templar are more stealthy and prefer assassination and silent movement. They do not have legions like the Khalai do. So, in my opinion, the Khalai version means offers you strength, while the Dark Templar means to keep the from harm and the shadows to act as their shield. But that is MY opinion.
@GravityO0: ^.^ You may be right... after all, what I read from the subject was only a non-canon opinion too! :) In fact, I suspect the Protoss language to be as complicated as... huh... french? X3
@tosswartul no, the high temps didnt make fun of adun. the khalai people wanted to banish the dark ones for not believing in the khala, but the void. adun tried to save the dark temps
The Executor, meaning the player character, in Episode 3 of Starcraft, is Artanis. The Executor player character in Episode 4 is Artanis's pupil, Selendis, who makes an appearance in Wings of Liberty. !Trivia! Artanis and Selendis are the only two player characters to survive the game. All other player characters will killed either in other missions or by their superiors.
@SoloWingAquilla What? I'm pretty sure that the magistrate in episode I survived, the cerebrate in episode 2 dies (due to Kerrigan), the executor in episode III survives (obviously), the executor in episode IV survives (obviously), the UED Major in episode V is assumed to have died, but it's uncertain, the cerebrate in episode VI might be the one from episode 2, but either way, Kerrigan kills him in the end. So, no. The two human characters are never explicitly killed.
Explicitly on screen, they were not shown to have died. But then again, no one was clearly shown to be dead. It is assumed that the UED Captain from Episode V died with the rest of the UED Fleet. The Magistrate from E1 survived the campaign, but an added secondary campaign shows him defending a planet from enhanced Zerg where he's actually on the battlefield in a Goliath. The Magistrate dies there. However, it appears that this was retconned as I can't find a reference to it anywhere anymore.
@SoloWingAquilla no! this is merely a rumor which doesnt even stand. Artanis was adressed different from Executor in campaign. and Selendis was eleced after, Just like that "commander" or "captain" in terran campain or "cerabrate" in zerg campaign, they simply are player not any sepecific character, the purpose of doing so is giving player the feeling of conquoring other race and master the universe in starcraft.
also, starcraft.wikia.com, the starcraft wiki, supports my theory.
Artanis was appointed Executor to replace Tassadar. There can only be 1 Executor at a time, therefore you play as Artanis in episode 3.
Episode 4 takes place after the first war, and right as the 2nd war (brood war) begins. That is when Artanis became a praetor, and Selendis became executor.
Once again, there can only be one executor, and this time you are playing as Selendis. In SC2 she is still executor.
@Adun4184 You should see that sc wiki said it contain rumour and wiki is a bad source. If there can only be 1 executor explain to me y there is a tal darim executor in sc2? And that executor pprtrait? Also ur wiki said artanis was preator back then and that info isn't marked as rumor
i should have been more clear, there can only be 1 executor per FACTION. or at least for the main protoss faction there can be only 1. i'm not sure what you mean by 'back then' but artanis became a praetor at the beginning of brood war.
but i admit that i'm not 100% sure that the player is artanis in the campaign
@Adun4184 okay think now...if u paid attention in SC1 campaign u will see that the faction under executor's command is executor fleet and during the civil war in sc1 non BW campaign executor actually fought akilae tribe(where Artanis is) so that proved executor is not artanis again.
also u said urself that u agree with me artanis was preator not executor in BW.
i went back to starcraft 1, now i think you might be right. not just because of your last comment, but also because of the way characters introduce themselves. what i mean by that is in Brood War, Artanis introduced himself as though he had never met you (previously i thought Selendis was executor in Brood War) but Artanis had met Selendis before. I think there were other times to when a character would introduce themself as though they had never met you.
@HoIlowlchigo Dude its just fucking ez, 'oh sorry i was wrong i didnt know the starcraft ii official website pointed out that the role of the protoss executor we actually play as was Artanis i see i was wrong.'
"StarCraft Episode III: The Fall began with the invasion of Aiur. In this campaign, the player took the role of executor Artanis," from Starcraft Wiki.
oh yeah right you dont effing trust wiki because its full of rumor. well then.
"A new executor, Artanis, was chosen and sent into battle, winning a crucial victory in the province of Antioch." from THE BLIZZAR'S OFFICIAL STARCRAFT II WEBSITE.
@HoIlowlchigo wow i just read the all the comments on this vid and everyone is trying to correct your thought you are still being bullcrap good job there.
h t t p : / / e n . w i k i p e d i a . o r g / w i k i / A r t a n i s _ ( S t a r C r a f t ) # A r t a n i s

its another wiki so you may not trust it, but it also says "Later retcons have made Artanis the identity of the player character for the Protoss campaign in StarCraft."

@GravityO0: ^.^ You may be right... after all, what I read from the subject was only a non-canon opinion too! :) In fact, I suspect the Protoss language to be as complicated as... huh... french? X3
tosswartul 11 months ago
@tosswartul Nuh it's even more sophisticated than japanese. At least I think so.
GravityO0 11 months ago
@tosswartul I'm French xD and I must admit I prefer Protoss language!

@tosswartul More like... Japanese or Chinese. >.<
GravityO0 11 months ago
@tosswartul no, the high temps didnt make fun of adun. the khalai people wanted to banish the dark ones for not believing in the khala, but the void. adun tried to save the dark temps
billybobjoe1699 11 months ago
@LOLLERIMURSUFIN Actually, it means "in honor of", but anyway, this video should be en taro Tassadar.
SuperWunderwaffen 9 months ago
@LOLLERIMURSUFIN Wrong. It's a minor difference, but you're the one who bluntly pointed it out and was wrong :)
It is indeed "In Honor of" or "In the Honor of"

The Executor, meaning the player character, in Episode 3 of Starcraft, is Artanis. The Executor player character in Episode 4 is Artanis's pupil, Selendis, who makes an appearance in Wings of Liberty. !Trivia! Artanis and Selendis are the only two player characters to survive the game. All other player characters will killed either in other missions or by their superiors.
SoloWingAquilla 1 year ago
@SoloWingAquilla What? I'm pretty sure that the magistrate in episode I survived, the cerebrate in episode 2 dies (due to Kerrigan), the executor in episode III survives (obviously), the executor in episode IV survives (obviously), the UED Major in episode V is assumed to have died, but it's uncertain, the cerebrate in episode VI might be the one from episode 2, but either way, Kerrigan kills him in the end. So, no. The two human characters are never explicitly killed.
iammishahearmeroar 1 year ago
Explicitly on screen, they were not shown to have died. But then again, no one was clearly shown to be dead. It is assumed that the UED Captain from Episode V died with the rest of the UED Fleet. The Magistrate from E1 survived the campaign, but an added secondary campaign shows him defending a planet from enhanced Zerg where he's actually on the battlefield in a Goliath. The Magistrate dies there. However, it appears that this was retconned as I can't find a reference to it anywhere anymore.
SoloWingAquilla 1 year ago
@SoloWingAquilla no! this is merely a rumor which doesnt even stand. Artanis was adressed different from Executor in campaign. and Selendis was eleced after, Just like that "commander" or "captain" in terran campain or "cerabrate" in zerg campaign, they simply are player not any sepecific character, the purpose of doing so is giving player the feeling of conquoring other race and master the universe in starcraft.

@HoIlowlchigo
also, starcraft.wikia.com, the starcraft wiki, supports my theory.
Adun4184 1 year ago
@Adun4184 You should see that sc wiki said it contain rumour and wiki is a bad source. If there can only be 1 executor explain to me y there is a tal darim executor in sc2? And that executor pprtrait? Also ur wiki said artanis was preator back then and that info isn't marked as rumor
HoIlowlchigo 1 year ago
@HoIlowlchigo
i should have been more clear, there can only be 1 executor per FACTION. or at least for the main protoss faction there can be only 1. i'm not sure what you mean by 'back then' but artanis became a praetor at the beginning of brood war.
but i admit that i'm not 100% sure that the player is artanis in the campaign
Adun4184 1 year ago
@Adun4184 okay think now...if u paid attention in SC1 campaign u will see that the faction under executor's command is executor fleet and during the civil war in sc1 non BW campaign executor actually fought akilae tribe(where Artanis is) so that proved executor is not artanis again.
also u said urself that u agree with me artanis was preator not executor in BW.
HoIlowlchigo 1 year ago
@HoIlowlchigo
i went back to starcraft 1, now i think you might be right. not just because of your last comment, but also because of the way characters introduce themselves. what i mean by that is in Brood War, Artanis introduced himself as though he had never met you (previously i thought Selendis was executor in Brood War) but Artanis had met Selendis before. I think there were other times to when a character would introduce themself as though they had never met you.
