to be more precise about the travel: godzilla was never (removed from history) but simply moved to a location under sea, where a nuke sub iwill go off (re)creating him again but stronger, so there has only been 1 godzilla but at the same time that godzilla has been 2 different types of the same godzilla :) last line was weird as hell i know,

Yeah, this Godzilla was larger. The older films had Godzilla at 50 meters. Godzilla 1985 and Godzilla vs Biollante had him at 80 meters. In the 90s' films they made him 100 meters.

The Futurians went back in time in an attempt to erase the Godzilla that attacked in 1984 from history. They never cared about 1954 Godzilla at all. Not one bit.

When the Futurians went back in time, they moved G84 from Lagos Island to the Bering Sea in the 1940's. They attempted to erase Godzilla, however, THEY CREATED HIM.

@RavenRX odzilla was never, NOT ONCE, erased from history. The Godzilla that attacked in 1984 and that battled with Biollante was created in the Bering sea. If you payed attention, you would remember a nuclear sub sank in the 1970's in the same location as the Godzillasaurus.

Later, another sub was attacked and destroyed by Godzilla during the vs. King Ghidorah movie. This sub made him stronger and bigger.

The best part about the guy in suit is quite touching and twisted:

he was the one who made the idea to RE-create ゴジラ by sending the submarine.

But he still remember ゴジラ did fight for him, so he feel very guilty and chose to stay to face his fault even some others asked him to flee.

This kind of interaction between the monster and human is really an epic.

,,,er i should just probably mention that isn't a new godzilla it's the same one, he was just not around or the destruction for demantic effect. you see, when they moved him, nuclear subs exploded nearby (as he said, for some reason) creating godzilla. it was this godzilla that fought biolante in the last and is responsible for the creation of spacegodzilla. I hope that clears things up...ok technically it's is the second godzilla since the first was destroyed in the first ever one.

this is actually one of my least favorites in the Godzilla franchise, there was way too much going on, the story was hard to follow, i didn't like the special effects very much and i didn't like seeing them reinvent the originals and turning godzilla back in to a bad guy, i like the original series better but i didn't like this one at all, it was very confusing.

@VidsByDaniel Pretty much. The Futurians transported the Godzillasarus to the ocean, not knowing that Japan during some time would be a nuclear wasteland there. They inadvertently created the 85' Godzilla which really allows Biollante to exist because again, they didn't get rid of Godzilla, just moved him.

So when then try to use the sub to actually create Godzilla, the end up super charging the already original 85' Godzilla.
