Magic does not seem to interest me all that much, However I am interested in my mental and spiritual growth. @justicewithasword, I would suggest you look for knowledge within yourself. Focus and observe your mind, your emotions, and on your behaviours. You will notice different personas or egos and realize that they are shielding your true identity. Overcome these egos to find what is underneath it. Knowledge can only be discovered through yourself.

I think it is amusing that many think the modern Bible is the absolute word of God as if it just fell from heaven. Where the truth of the matter is that the new testiment was assembled by Emporer Constanine, they intentionally left out the Gnostic texts because they pointed the path to divinity being inwards. Const wanted to unite and control an empire, he needed a centralized religion to control the masses, where the path lay through the church, not the individual.

This deception that hid the true knowledge is a theme in Christianity, Judaism, Zoroasterism  huduism etc. It seems that this deception is part of a plan put into place in the beginning. It is a fundamental part of the evolution of consciousness, a necessary evil. It is the samething as not letting children see things they are not ready for.
