Is this the complete footage of the Thames closedown until Richard Dunn's farewell or is it only the Sooty bits, as I've noticed that The Tourists' "I Only Want To Be With You" showing clips of the programmes that Thames made has been cut off and you left out the bit where the announcer said "Thames, A Talent for Television"? Thanks!
Why did Thames have to go?! It had quality TV, especially during the 80s and 90s when we were young. i.e. Sooty, Wind in the Willows, Thomas the Tank Engine.
@SCRuffeyfan It was really to do with Thames' World in Action documentary 'Death on the Rock' about the S.A.S Thatcher Govt 'shoot to kill' policy on an operation in Gibraltar to kill 3 unarmed IRA Terrorists who were there planning a mainland terror campaign. While I personally agree with the operation being done and the killings Thatcher did not want the documentary being broadcast which Thames didn't back down on in the national interests. Hence the Govt got their revenge, Thames went.
Death on the rock was from the Thames series This Week - World in Action was a Granada Production.

Richard Dunn died soon after. They certainly made an impact on my tv viewing. Look at TV now, not worth a light.
