@zebg832 hi zeb thanks for the advice you are amazing on the wheel you have incredible balance and a great style!! i first used pipe insulation to cover my wheel but it was not strong enough and moved to much in spirals and also slows you down because its spongy. so i came up with using heavy duty floor liner like from kitchen floor. i covered it in two layers and then heavy duty duck tape it works well good protection when outside but is hard work to get it on really tight. hope that helps!!!
the german wheel is too small for you. and you should better go to a professional training because thats kind of shit.:D sorry but i had to say this...
I just discovered both the cyr and German Wheel. I am amazed by both. Could either one be used on a normal school or college size stage? I have emailed both Zimmermans about size and cost and Wolfgang in Illinois. No one has responded. Did you teach yourself? Is there a training tape. Where are you from could you refer me to another manufacturer? Are there any in States?
@Pamlamar hi there the wheels can be used on a smaller stage you just have to limit the moves. zimmerman is the best manufacturer and will cost 2000 euros for german wheel. the size should be about 35 - 40cm taller than you. as for cyr wheel i recommend hugo noel circus concepts from canada the wheels cost 1300 dollars but are worth it well made and strong. yes i taught myself by videos on you tube would recommend having some help. i am from Ireland. don`t know about manufactures in the states!
Coming along pretty nicely! I just built a German Wheel and am making progress learning I am gun-shy on trying the spiral, but am getting closer...as well. Is yours home-made?
@Whymcycle hi there love how creative you are with all your inventions especially the bike!!! good job with the german wheel. wish i could make my own it would have saved a lot of money. my wheel is a professional wheel from germany made by zimmerman its a two meter four piece wheel that weighs about 45 kg and cost a total of 2000 euro to get it made and shipped from germany to ireland. i am still learning the basics its a lot of work!!!
@Whymcycle i covered the wheel with layers of floor liner and heavy duty duck tape so it is protected when i use it outside. the spiral is a very scary move to learn but you just have to go for it then you realize its not really that hard. some advice would be have a good flat space then roll over to get some speed and as you go into the second roll push your body forward and the wheel will tip over into a spiral. as long as the wheel is moving when you tip the wheel you will go into a spiral.!!
@Whymcycle if you go into a spiral with the wheel moving to slow then it will fall flat on the ground and if you go to fast the wheel will not fall so you need an average speed!!!! i noticed you designed the wheel really different with a center wheel. why did you add a center wheel? would it not have been easier to copy a proper wheel? i think you could also easily make a cyr wheel which is a single wheel that you spin in!!!
@Whymcycle i also have a cyr wheel but i am finding it much harder to learn than german wheel and you fall a lot more as there are no handles or foot straps. if you are going to make one the size should be one fist bigger than your height so just measure yourself with shoes on from floor and place a fist on top of your head and measure to the top of your fist and that should be the internal diameter of your wheel. good look with the wheel if you want any more advice just ask!!!
@ISmileInBiebersDream hi i am only learning and its hard with no one to show you how since i think i am the only one in ireland with a german wheel!!! when you say i make mistakes what you mean probably my legs not together and body not in good position is that what you mean?
You could easily go over in seats if you kept your legs straight. Just to let you know. And did you cover it in pipe insulation?
