Saving it would be streamlining it and diverting some of our military funding to it. The cost of health coverage was high long before the government got involved, so much so that most people wouldn't get treatment because they couldn't afford it. Just throwing that out there. You know kind of like there were lots of old and disabled people starving to death in poor houses before we had SSI, the good ol' days were bad times for many.

If that good or service is not useful or not wanted, what purpose do they server other than to allow them to receive a pay check at the cost to everyone else. If all those departments were shut down, and only 1% of them were able to get a job, that 1% would be more productive than all of them in government jobs, and we'd all be better off for it.

The cost of health coverage was high long before the government got involved, so much so that most people wouldn't get treatment because they couldn't afford it. Just throwing that out there. You know kind of like there were lots of old and disabled people starving to death in poor houses before we had SSI, the good ol' days were bad times for many.

If that good or service is not useful or not wanted, what purpose do they server other than to allow them to receive a pay check at the cost to everyone else. Imo, if we had invested just the trillion or so, that Iraq alone has cost US Tax payers, ( BP, Exxon, Haiburton, Tel Aviv, NY and London banks get the money from the pipelined oil from N Iraq sold to guess who, China..remember, Bush was saying Iraq's oil would pay for it all?..fleeced!) ..in R&D in hi-energy fusion, super-solarcell tech, hydrosol, clean coal tech, superconductor hydro-el generators, Hydrosol i-c cars, ect..America would have far more wealth, promise, jobs, life quality4all2!

And the damage, internationally, to US foreign policy and other interests, ie credibility. btw,..if US troops leave Iraq by end of year, who will protect BP, Exxon's ect holding there: private tax payed mercs?! ( I dunno.)
