  • If i put it to high performance would the power company charge you more for using more energy?

i know its a dumb question but i just want to know

  • works for me thnx

  • i have AMD Athlon II X4 2.9GHz

  • say if you have a Intel(R) core processor with a 2.27 GHz and you need it to be a Intel(R) core 2.4 GHz how do u do it???

  • @deltaA320 you could overclock it

  • @WillumMaguire well, theres a problem I dont know what kind i would use to overlock it on a laptop.

  • @deltaA320 overclock it?

  • very safe

  • is this safe

  • wow really?

    i can't believe i didn't know that.

  • can i speed up my cpu on windows 7 in a desktop?

  • lol anyone Noticed that I'f you put "power" in Search on Windows 7, there are 72 Files that is Aztec, Japenesse, Huns, etc.?

  • @Onesideofyams he also has a duel boot and has windows 7 on it

  • its works thanks

  • Processor power managment option removed by MS due to a bug.

  • WOW on high performance it was on 50% maximum

  • BULLSHIT! vista is fast. i've never had any lag at this os. there is no needy of speed-up prgms.

  • @XavierTheLast i agree the os is great "7 is better" but we are talking about the cpu performance not the os.

  • @XavierTheLast you're kidding me right? Vista is the slowest piece of dick ever invented.

  • @hungrybear8

no wonder vista is slow at your comp if u have 1khhz procc with 0,5gb of ram...

  • @XavierTheLast khz? The first processor ever made had more than 10 Mhz. Nice try. RAM doesn't really affect your computers speed either unless you're that dumb to be running that many processes at once. Learn to use a computer gronk. And if you still think Vista is fast, then you are THE most fucking retarded person to have ever inhabited earth.

  • @hungrybear8

yeah.... im retard. and i feel good with it. happy? :)

and THATS why im using se7en.

  • i never had problem with vista(SP 1 though) but windows 7 rules all the OS'es

  • I did this all, and when I get to the percentage changing part. Mine is already at 100% and it still sucks. D:

    What to do?

    Please help.

  • oh my god....this actualy helped a lot :O thx man! :D

  • slow slow and not responding stop working..

  • @colonelyuri 10 blue screens in a row fer me.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Pcwizkid your very good on computer's! I sent your a msg early on today and please can you respond to that and send me a msg back i need to talk to you some how!

  • Hey Pcwizkid your very good on computer's! I sent your a msg early on today and please can you respond to that and send me a mesg back i need to talk to you some how!

  • It still slow...

  • um dude youve got windows 7 running not vista

  • @aust1nww still windows 7 is applied like vista on several programs becuse of similarities

  • .....can you PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ make a video how to lowwer cpu usage

  • @sandman4056605 at power options, select the Power saver plan

  • cool tnx man

  • thanx, i am using 512mb of ram but when i did what u said on ur vid

my pc is now working really fast for the first time

  • This worked like a charm, and it fixed my win7 issue. Big thanks!

  • If your on a Norwegian PC!

    Strømalternativer

  • If you change your power options to High Performance won't your CPU temperature run hotter and won't your CPU have a chance of overheating?

  • @pjtart ya, it'll run warmer, but if your computer was properly engineered and there isn't too much dust inside it will be perfectly fine.

I have my computer set to "balanced", With maximum CPU state at 100% and minimum at 0%. That way the computer will use little power when it isn't stresed, and ramp up to maximum when it is needed. When using a desktop or when plugged into the wall with a laptop, that's the way to go if you ask me.

  • @pjtart

You mean like... how computers have always been running? Set to 100%?

  • You forgot to mention if your laptop has a intel core you can change the intel power settings to disable all power saving settings and you can make your computer run about 2 to 3 times faster :D So not only are you using all of your battery power, you can also use all of your cpu power as well!

  • @FavoriteSniper this is gonna sound stupid but how do you do that?

  • @1337MrRandomguy Easy

    1. Right click screen

    2. Click graphics properties

3.On the left, click Display settings

    4. Click on power settings

    5. Then click on power settings

6.Drag arrow to disable power saving then click ok

That's it 6 easy steps for increasing the performance on a intel for laptops

  • @FavoriteSniper you sir deserve a cookie :D

  • lol mine was on balanced

  • @alex5stelistu - balanced is the default setting for Win. Vista and 7

  • this works on windows 7 too

  • Yup...!! It worked.....

    Thank you man....

  • i cant use it at high performance because my computer just overheats

  • but doesnt it kill ur battery? i want some decent life... im gonna keep it at ballanced

  • @MrFijiWiji No it dosen't kill your battery just reducing the life of the use after power it to 100% of power it won't harm anything.

  • @Nexuspvefreak Except your wallet...lol :)

  • @MrFijiWiji just leave it out and leave your laptop plugged in it won't kill it just uses more power

  • Good job dude you are awesome ;)

  • THANKS A LOT Wow never knew this..

  • hey i can't found power options man what i do??

  • @TraumaSilva Open the Start Menu... Type "Power Options"... Press Enter.

  • @Cooley35 i did dat b4 and it DIDN'T WORK

  • How about Windows XP?

  • cant even load the damn video

  • @vorpezat no

  • hey its lucky i watched this i thought mine was on higher performance but it was on balanced lol.

  • thx my processor was at 60%..

  • the best video! 5/5

  • Wait, having 100% CPU usage in the Task Manager is actually a good thing now??

  • thanks good tip

  • Wow awsome vid thanks!

  • Guys remember that this will cost more money, because it is using far more electricity :).

  • Great tip you rock!!

  • its dangerouse for them laptops which has over heating

    it doesnt work with XP

  • 100% won't wear out the CPU faster or anything?

My computer is always on cause I constantly use it. So it never gets a break.

  • is not dangerous :P , if you have laptop this is perfect but i dont think this trick work on desktop pc's , me work on maxium performance :D

  • will this work on xp?

  • thanks 4 the help

  • wait why are people saying it dangerous?

  • thankl you bacause i got balance

  • No it's not dangerous, you're getting confused with overclocking, that would be going over your factory settings for example, a 150% of your CPU clockspeed

can cause system crashes.. though your computer is fairly safe either way, when a CPU overheats it will automatically underclock underclock to save CPUdamage

  • @Lemonaderz it is not necessary try that it will underclock

  • Thanks man

  • never mind it's working... :p thankz

  • for some reason... my PC just got slower :/

  • thanks man...

  • Great video. 5/5

  • I set my Dell 'Studio' desktop to high performance. The next time I booted up, it no longer recognized my mobile broadband dongle. My PC will not work on the internet in high performance mode. My friend did the same with his PC and lost his internet too, and he has normal broadband through a telephone line. Weird!

  • Yeah.. this must be a different error, just say you have 2GHz Core 2 Duo, power saver will run each core at 1GHz instead

that's all.. , unless you're having cooling problems your processes can only get faster

  • Ta for reply. My friend found the problem, it messes with your registry for some reason. He has registry mechanic, so he's sorted it for himself. I just reset my power setting for now, but I know what to do if I need the extra boost. Thanks dude.

  • (Y) :D

  • @Lemonaderz thnx for the reply

  • Pcwizhkidztektalk man bcuz of u i never forget that word xD got damnit

  • I feel like an idiot now thanks

  • It works very well but explores your battery faster if you are using laptop. So keep in mind to unplug your machine at least 3 times a week (and let it run in power save mode).

  • from my opinion i dont think this is dangerous because

    1. there are no warnings

    2. pcwizkid would probably warn you

    3. they LET you do it... if they didnt let you they owuld probably block it...

  • in my opinion i think it is dangerous because it can damage your proccessor

  • it doesn't

  • how much boost performance do you actully get? O_O does it giv more mhz? or something?

  • You probably won't be able to notice much of a difference in your 2D desktop, but with video editing and rendering you most likely will. Basically power saver underclocks your video card in order to save power.

  • how about in game?

  • Yeah, standard a laptop will be on the balanced setting, automatically ranging

High preformance will use 100% of your laptop processor , 2GHz Core2Duo at 50% will be 1GHz, so yes, it'll increase your clockspeed by 50%

  • thats great

  • OMG. My pc feels like new. Awsome thanks

  • Hey it wont let me change and the setting you have dnt appear

  • There is a quicker way to do this just click on ther battery icon at the bottom right corner and selec high perfomance it does the same but is just a quicker way of doing it

  • this is not recomended for Laptops cuz when i use the high preformance it eats so much battery. I only use the "high preformance" for gaming, or when its recharging.

For doing simple stuffs, or when your battery is too low then you should use powersave option

  • WOW O.O

  • this takes more power right? So does this mean ur energy bill will increase?

  • my computer dont have processin power managment is there another way

  • it works with desktop pc??????

  • Great video! 5 stars!

  • Hmm if I set it to max performance does that mean it uses more power like it consumes more power right?

  • really work thanks!

  • TY!

  • Thank you mate!

  • no it doesnt!!!!

  • No.

And also, OS X is just BSD with some tweaks and prettied up. OS X is basically a free open source operation system with some tweaks for $300.

  • laptops = fail... i spent $2k on a laptop last year...

if i had of spent just $800 on a desktop computer... the desktop computer would still kick the laptops ass in performance.

however... good vid dude, keep it up.

  • does this work with windows 7?

    Nice video 5/5

  • nope..

windows 7 is set to 100% by default..

  • i can't believe this for the past 3 months pc been locking up could not find out why replaced everything THANKS man 3 months off banging head against the wall over

  • good tip man

  • OMG....thnx for reminding me...i can't believe I forgot about this...lolololol...thank you i was wondering why sony vegas was so laggy....

  • great tip

  • I think my desktop only has one power option called 'always on' lol.. i'll try and check that 100% thing though

  • Omg! My laptop is now fast! Thank you!

  • a huj ci dupe ;/

  • i cant find the power option

    i using: vista premium

    plz help

  • good tutorial

  • hey man nice tutorial!i have a question:

can you please give me your desktop wallpaper that you're using in this video,i really want it it's awesome!

  • man where did ya download da cursor!!?!?! plz reply man!

  • Does that reduces the processor life?

  • you would die before the processor does

  • These are the kinds of things I don't tell people because I see them as common sense. Control panel, power options. Obviously people would want high performance over a few minutes of battery life. Why would you want to run everything slower? That's not going to save you battery life, that'll keep your laptop on longer, but the tasks you do will take more time, causing it to use more energy to do the same tasks. You should set both to 100% unless you're using your laptop as a flashlight.

  • Great fucking vid i was on this was still running good but its noticabley faster now thanks

  • @ JuggernautRecords, btw you can right click computer, click advanced system settings and under the visual effects tab you can click Adjust for best performance. This should make your computer slightly faster, but also not so nice to look at.

  • it should change automatically when you plug ur laptop out :/

  • It does change automatically, but some people have battery and on ac power processor settings less than 100%. It doesn't only save battery, but it saves electricity when using it below 100%. It doesn't really save electricity unless you just leave your laptop idle. 100% saves battery power if you're actually doing stuff since it allows you to get things done much quicker.

  • No thanks, i'll stay with Microsoft..

  • me too

  • me too :D

  • me too! windows 7 roks.

  • will this help my champions online game play better?some1 please anser.

  • depends on your graphic card. You might just be suffering from lack of frame-rates, ultimately slowing the overall look and feel of the game down.

  • gan you tell me how to fix this problem?cuz my WoW skips when im walking around ALOT ofother players only and on champions it skips when walkn and im lost what all do i need to get for my desktop so it can run smooth?plze and thank you so much for replying.

  • kbbaggy Why would you ask such a question? Why don't you try it out and then post a comment saying whether it worked or not. This is a comment board, not a Q&A. You can simply answer your own question in seconds, or are you just trying to be a smart ass? I mean seriously? It's a few mouse clicks away...

  • hmm, no idea if that has smt do with performance

  • how about windows XP how do i run this faster??

  • i put it on 1% compacity!

  • what a joke you are N2k!) - LOL

  • does this void the warranty

  • No it doesnt megaman2k5 you douchebag. STOP POSTING LIES you faggot depresso.

  • lmfaooo

  • can this void the cpu????

  • lol, ofc not

  • no fuckhead

  • This video help me

  • Wow nice guide man!

  • My laptop overheats and turns off when I use high performance... But I also want the speed of high performance without the overheating... How can I solve this problem?

    Please Reply.

  • Only Us High Performance On A Desktop Not A Laptop Just Use Power Save To Solve Problem

  • u cant

  • High performance only for desktops. If you use it on a laptop, that will decrease your laptop's battery life.

  • Well, I want the speed of high performance without it overheating, I don't mind about the battery life, I would just leave it on charge while I'm using it, the problem is that it overheats.

    Thanks for everyone who replied.

  • It overheats, well that's normal. I don't know how to stop it from overheating. Try finding some air conditioner that you can put under your laptop. Some of my friends use it and their laptops are cooler.

  • Yeah, I think the cooler would be the only solution.

    Thank you.

  • Not if you leave your laptop plugged in.

  • This tip applies only to some kinds of processors that have the ability to change the speed according to the load. My desktop 4 core cpu does not have this ability so the option in the "advanced" settings is missing. This mostly applies to LAPTOP and perhaps NETBOOK computers that their CPU supports changing their speed to save energy. If you set it to high performance and you are running on batteries, you will have less time with the batteries.

  • Interesing video !

  • That's silly that Vista does this on desktops

  • Changeing from Power save to High preformance make a huuuge diffrence!! :D

  • u people are that stupid that u didnt know that?

    nice vid dude there great

  • I was thinking that too, lol

  • wow man big diference thank you!

  • Nice Video!

  • thanks soo much

  • Thanks!!

  • thanks so much!!! also i have a dell insp 15 with intel core 2 duo with t6500 processor... do you have any other tips on making the laptop faster...
